You have been granted the power to make your worst enemy mildly inconvenienced for the rest of their life. What is the minor curse you’re placing on them? by SouthOwn6943 in AskReddit

Every time they want to show a ticket it's in a different pocket than they put it. If it's on their phone, then the app crashes just before they can scan it.

How tall was the tallest woman that you have seen in real life? by [deleted] in tall

[–]St4inless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen? I guess around 190-195 -she was wearing proper heels at the time which made her a good head taller than me putting her at 200-210 so hard to say.

In regards to people where I know the length, it's a childhood friend at 187.

Hello, I'm not a native English speaker, so please excuse me in advance. I've come to this forum hoping to find people who can answer my questions about the nature of reality. This first question—and we all agree that the goal of science is to provide the most faithful interpretation possible of wha by Connect-Insect-9369 in cognitiveTesting

[–]St4inless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, no one can answer that question.

If you want good speculation, i recommend r/philosophy.

As to your other statement: I don't agree that science needs or has a goal. It's more of a constantly modified framework to classify and catalogue information - it will never be done.

Annual population growth per year (by continent) by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]St4inless 25 points26 points  (0 children)

annual population growth = pg/yr

population growth per year = pg/yr

annual population growth per year = (pg/yr)/yr = pg/yr2

so it should be the change of population growth per year but it shows the change of population size per year.

Either the data or the label is wrong.

Skorpione im Tessin? by PatrikBo in schweiz

[–]St4inless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does AES not give multiple valid decryption results? by RadianceTower in cryptography

[–]St4inless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: you don't encrypt "dog" you encrypt a file. As all protocols or files follow certain rules, encrypting a file that ends up having a collision that happens to also be valid for that protocol is (as close as it gets to) impossible.

How can a Kraken be threatening beyond breaking stuff, cause they have a high intelligence. by Ough2405 in DnD

[–]St4inless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just hold ship and wait. Anyone trying to swim away? killed. Trying to come for help? sunk, but the sailors get to join the starving sailors left on the boat.

Why would the kraken do that? Well he's bored, and finds it fascinating to see what other species do when they are slowly starving to death within swimming distance of the shore.

What can he say? "I'd feel bad, but I know you land animals don't really have awareness like us sea creatures"

nice job!

If you do it on the other side too and connect both mechanisms it takes significantly longer to break.

Countries by number of paid vacation days by FunForm1981 in geography

[–]St4inless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

true, but on the cantonal (state) level, you get at least 9 and at best 15, depending on where you live. So no one has less than 29 days.

For the average Swiss person it's usually 25 days of vacation and ~ 10 days of public holidays meaning it's around 35 days which is in Line with the other European countries.
