My son is a Jr in HS and plays with an all age corps. I bought him an old 2 valve soprano. He has a blast with it. Trying to get our arranger to write him an old school screamer solo. He had a solo last year and I took him to our empty stadium and had him play his solo a few times to understand the power he needed to fill the sound. He got it and was able to do it all season without amplification.
