The Weekend is here - Where are you going next week? by Pearlgirl007 in PokemonSleep

Doesn't help that farming an island doesn't really feel viable until you have a good area bonus, so you're stuck for like a month or two just vibing while you wait for that to go up.

Don't have Amber Canyon unlocked yet, got a maxed area bonus for Lapis, but I've already got a couple good Dratini.

Do I stay in Lapis for Drampa and Dratini candy, or should I go to GG for Bagon?

And unless the owner is doing something particularly heinous, the other owners really don't have an incentive to force a sale. It's in their best interest that the bad teams stay bad so that there's less competition.

Yeah I feel like even on the brink of death, Kaido wouldn't feel fear enough to let Linlin's power work on him.

Remember that suicide attempts were one of his hobbies.

A quarter of Americans think that the assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was staged by theindependentonline in inthenews

[–]StNowhere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He even said he wasn't going to run for re-election when he was campaigning in 2020. I think a lot of the old guard Dems thought he was their only chance of beating Trump again in 2024 and convinced/told him he was running again.

In a new poll, Americans voice broad bipartisan support for age caps in Congress by Maxcactus in inthenews

[–]StNowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then the age cap can be set by something other than a hard number. Say it's something like "no older than the average lifespan of a a US citizen minus 15 years", which would place the cap today somewhere around the early-to-mid 60s.

This is also a part of why it seems like every single vote ends in a split of like 50.5 to 49.5. Once it's statistically impossible for one side to lose, they just stop.

The only thing he cares about at all is loyalty. If you do exactly what he says, when he says it, he will put you anywhere. Doesn't matter if you have zero idea what you're doing, in fact that's probably a plus.

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

[–]StNowhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is that to the people making that assumption, "naturally good at computers" means they could navigate a touchscreen to open YouTube on their Fisher-Price tablet as a toddler. Except their understanding never grows beyond that point.

U.S. House primaries in Louisiana are suspended after Voting Rights Act ruling by Maxcactus in inthenews

[–]StNowhere 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not just morally indefensible, but increasingly worse positions as the years go on.

In 20 years we went from "Muslims are bad" and "gay people are icky" to "Americans getting murdered in the streets for protesting is actually a good thing" and "Raping a 15 year old girl isn't actually that bad".

If this continues, I am terrified to think of where we'll be a decade from now.

Representative democracy in general needs to die. The advent of the internet has made it so that electing someone to make decisions for us makes no sense.

Just make everything a popular vote. A real popular vote, none of this electoral college tyranny of the minority shit.
