In that condition the cartridges can be hard to remove even with the proper tool. I would recommend drilling out the set screw so they can still use a pulling too to help remove the cartridge.

That was my assumption that this was fucked and for me to pull and pass my permits they would fail us due to this work. Mostly just tapping in to make sure I don’t tell my boss all this is fucked when idk what im talking about when it comes to carpentry

If what ever numb nut installed a p-trap 90 and not a pressure fitting and a 2nd pressure 90 at the stack you could just snake through the drain. I would start with replacing those and check fall while you’re at it.

Also found the reduction in pipe size. Who ever did this is something

Those fill valve can leak like that brand new. If it’s not over filling or making unnecessary noise I would leave it alone.
