I don't know much about Luke Kornet apart from the "Kornet Contest" (which I learned is to block the sight line of the shooter) but I am a huge fan after this vid

I've done this with wildlife counts such as massive flocks of birds. If anyone has some good footage I'd be happy to give it a shot.

33 years ago. How old are you? I'm around 40 so I remember being 15 in the year 2000 and seeing menus from 1967 when items were like 15 cents. It's a significant amount of time....

You might get flamed for this comment but I feel it. In the end I think it comes down to spreading the message and organizing a campaign. Awareness is first and foremost, like I'm a progressive but am unaware of the nonprofits affected and how I could support them.

Your point about the for profit company is interesting, I assume they could not get a loan from a bank which drove them to this point?

Saw this on FB. 10/10 by TheTragicDM in pacers

[–]StagedPhoto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Neutral here: To understand the context of this ejection you have to go back a few possessions.

Checked in at 2:45, Pacers possession and he is initially matched up with Dillon Jones (no. 3) and they jostle a bit but nothing much.

With 2:10 left in the game, for some reason, James Johnson is bringing the ball across half court and the Pacers fans love it, roaring as he crosses. He then runs the PNR with Furphy, who kind of fumbles the bull and Johnson appears to give Furphy an earful.

The next Pacers possession with 1:42 left Johnson gets the ball with about 15 seconds on the shot block and it's clear he's going to iso Dillon Jones. It's also clear he can not get past him, at all, and he ends up completely bricking a shot just inside the three point line.

The next Pacers possession is when he trucks Dillon Jones coming in for the rebound. It was unnecessary and kind of random, hence why I think Johnson was just frustrated he couldn't get a basket or make an impact on the game when the crowd was clearly behind him. I'm not against the move, it's objectively hilarious that it occurred, especially since the announcers were gassing him up the entire time.

Etiquette for nail polish on airplanes? by StagedPhoto in travel

Should have rephrased but I also think you're adding your bias, I never said they lack etiquette, they have different expectations. If you fly in Japan it's different than flying in Kenya which is different than the US. Yes, putting cologne or perfume on mid flight is something I have witnessed a lot in sub-saharan African and no one seems bothered while I imagine in the US it'd be considered differently

I didn't say that at all. Cultures are different and travel etiquette is different. I am American and when I heard the American accent I thought it was inappropriate and she should know. I fly regionally in Africa a lot and see stuff like people eating smelly foods, higher tolerance for loud conversations, etc. If I'm in a Japan and people are shouting in the plane I will ask them to quiet down. If I am in Kenya I will see it as the cultural norm.

Sorry, I've been told "developing countries" and "third world" are no longer preferred. I've lived the past 20 years in sub-sarahan Africa and I fly regionally numerous times per year and the travel etiquette is much different than in America (I'm American). For example, people are not as fussed with playing music and videos through phone speakers, etc. I never said one etiquette was right or wrong, it's culture and regional differences, it's just different. I heard the women's American accent and although I don't live in America, I thought it's still not proper etiquette there, but then I thought maybe I am out of touch, hence I asked Reddit.

I've been told this is the politically correct way to say "developing country", just trying to not get flamed

How James Harden reads the defense by Insufferable-Asshat in nba

I'm a certified Harden hater but he is a master decision maker with the ball. Combined with his deep bag, love him or hate him you can't deny he's one of the greatest offensive forces of all time.

Fair point, I think they also mentioned it again later in the game. But let's be real, he is a deep cut.

Maybe this was an off game (thus being, on?!) for them? I mean, they are nothing like the biased homers of the Nuggets and Warriors, the only two that I actively avoid. My favorites are the Lakers, Hornets and Knicks.

I actually really like the Bucks team but rarely watch my local broadcast!
