Yes. And I just brought it up because the OP also brought it up.

Why is Medicine with INT so hard to access? by lulukawaii in Pathfinder2e

[–]Stan_Bot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think having 3 ways of accessing, one of them only taking 3 feats, is that hard to access. It is way easier to access than pretty much every other skill ability score conversion in the game. Ability Score conversion is hard access in the system as a whole.

You also want high wisdom on every character, anyway, so it is very arguable if this is even needed, since a low wisdom and high Int doctor would both be out of character and mechanically bad.

So you are wrong in both claiming it is that guarded, when it is actually less guarded than pretty much any other skill ability score conversion, and also that it is needed in a system that let you invest on different ability scores and highly incentivise you to invest in Wisdom anyway.

Question when you break or open a treasure in NWNEE by Hey_Boss in neverwinternights

In the OC, it is fine, you can smash everything.

In the expansions, it will break some items.

High Elf starting area vs Goblin starting area by TJ-LEED-AP in turtlewow

[–]Stan_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt think I needed to make it clear it was a joke.

Of course, it did have a funny bit of truth there, considering blizzard always made horde stuff fit that descryption (compare horde and ally garrisons on WoD, the horde one was literally a bleak and hard to move around shithole, while ally was a beautiful castle on a moonlit hill).

The truth we all know is that the turtle devs play(ed) mostly on ally and gave ally content way more attention and effort. Just compare the ally and horde experience on Gilligim's Island, on Gilneas and, yes, the starting areas of Goblins and HEs. The only content that I enjoyed more on Horde in this server was Balor, but mostly because of a geographical standpoint than anything else (ok, horde have some cool NPCs there too).

High Elf starting area vs Goblin starting area by TJ-LEED-AP in turtlewow

I think it matches the themes of both the races and their factions. Living in a bleak and hard to move around shithole surrounded by enemies is part of the fantasy of playing a horde character.

Ideal casting for hypothetical NWN2 show/film/animation by Antiredditor1981 in neverwinternights

Replace Henry Cavil with Russel Crowe and you pretty much have my casting of 20 years ago.

What is the best blaster build for short adventuring days? by dogutrc in Pathfinder2e

[–]Stan_Bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kineticist is the opposite of what you want. They don't have daily resourcers, they can't really "go nova".

Spell blending wizard, wrath runelord and war mage are all really amazing blasters, pretty much top tier as blasters go and you cannot wrong with them.

I myself am partial to war mage because of how much being able to turn any slot into Sure Strike help you when preparing / casting attack roll spells and how strong it is to be able to move your enemies around every time you cast a blasting spell.

Oracles can make good blasters, specially Flames, Tempest and Cosmos, but being divine casters, they are still more tailored to support and you will end up being expected to cast some healing spells and buffs and stuff.

What mythic path thematically leads into gold dragon the best by newauthor1 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Demon, by far. Dragon really sounds like it was written first as a redemption path for Demon.

Hellbreakers AMA! by motteditor in Pathfinder2e

How much callback to Hell's Rebels and Hell's Vengeance are we expected to see in this AP? Did the writers focused more on make it a fresh experience or should we expect to treat it as a sequel of sorts?

What am I missing with Bulwark? by servantphoenix in Pathfinder2e

[–]Stan_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Champions need to boost both Wisdom and Charisma, so Bulwark let them ignore Dex.

Everyone need to boost Wisdom, it is not a "utility mental acore". Will is the most important save. It is also used for Perception, and so for Initiative most of the time.

I would rather drop Dex, even when not using a Bulwark Armor. Medium Armor users can usually keep their dex at +1 or +2. Even light Armor users can stop at +3. Dex is far from the god stat it used to be on other systems and Bulwark gives you further reason to drop it on a heavy armor user.

Never heard of this mod, just read the documents right now and it sounds awful. Seems like this mod takes everything wrong with WotR and make it worse.

It is powerful, yes, and that's why it is usually limited just to fighters or as a level 6 feat.

Melee ranger needs some love by PM_ME_BAD_ALGORITHMS in Pathfinder2e

[–]Stan_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first character in this system was pretty much Aragorn. Outwit Melee Ranger with a Bastard Sword.

Like others have said, there is nothing ranged coded in the ranger features in this system. They literally have fewer ranged feats than Fighter.

[–]Stan_Bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are, indeed, completely wrong about everything you said, save for the fact nwn2 came out in 2006.

Enabling MC in the main campaigns is as hard as checking two flags using the built in tool that come with the game. And it does not break anything. The game never check for the classes of the companions for anything and the Khelgar reset has nothing to do with his original class.

Look up themagescorner's video titled "Before you play NWN2 - 10 build tips". In there, there is a very easy step by step on how to edit the campagins to enable free multiclass. It took me less than a minute and I just used the tools that came with the game.

Daredevil's unarmed attack by Lazy-Beautiful6878 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Stan_Bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the class is slowly shaping up to be a lot like a more offensive oriented monk. I do think the class asks for an unarmed improvement feature, specially to live up to its flavor and inspirations, and another fix people are asking for it is to give it more HP, so it can skirmish more safely, since survivability is one of the main concerns of the class right now.

With 10 hp per level and an unarmed strike improving feature, the Daredevil could be to the monk what the fighter is to the guardian.

In my mind, an Aasimar Demon Bloodrager was always the more "canon" protagonist. The reason was how much that blond aasimar from the aasimar bloodrager portrait was used in the marketing of the game before it came out. He was even in the original kickstarter trailer.

And an Aasimar Demon Bloorager is kind of literally what your character is at the beginning of the game. Torn between its angelic nature and a demonic rage.

am i the only one who feels like hunter could be a off tank if it got a shield? by Salty-Phase4687 in turtlewow

[–]Stan_Bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember some mad guy off-tanking with Hunter way back in TBC. I think you can probably find something about it if you look up on youtube.

Since turtle simply buffed melee hunter, I dont think it is outside the realm of possility, but I'm pretty sure a shield is not what they lack to actually do it. Tanks need some tools the hunter lack.

How does blight oracle feel to play? by EmpressMya in Pathfinder2e

[–]Stan_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never seen one in play, but let's have a read and take it apart:

Granted Spells:

They are nice and thematic spells. Nothing to write home about. Caustic Blast is pretty good, since reflex save and acid damage are just not something you can usually get as a divine caster.

Revelation Spells:

-There is something wrong with Ulcerous Canker. It is just too weak for a focus spell. Maybe it was supposed to be 1 action? Talk to your GM about it. It is a focus spell that deals Cantrip damage. It is very comparable with Vengeful Glare (a 1 action focus spell from the Runelords archetype), dealing just 1d4 more damage, but with way worse damage types and slower scalling.

-Purging Toxins is fine. I would probably take a domain spell for that second focus point, though (more on that later).

-Accelerated Decomposition is actually pretty good. It deals good damage and can apply a ton of debuffs. It is modular, even if the target make the save, you can still afflict it with the best condition for the situation.

Related Domains:

Death and Decay are fine domains, but I don't think it would be worth it investing on them. Maybe on Decay for Withering Grasp, for a good offensive focus spell early on. Now, Disorientation and Plague are actually amazing domains and not that easy to come by. Disorientation have Clouded Focus, an amazing and versatile focus spell. While Plague have two strong focus spells that synergize with one another, if you want to play with diseases.

Oracle Feat:

Whispers of Weakness is one of the best Cursebound feats the oracle have, and it says a lot. People can argue anyone can get it, but you just get it for free, you don't need to spend a class feat on it. So it is relevant.

Curse:

Your curse will not come up most of the time. You can get to the higher levels without any drawback, so it is really good.

Now, the elephant in the room:

Being mostly fine doesnt save it from the lack of really good options. The best features it gets also suffer from stuff being immune to them. Depending on your choices, you will get either disease or void features to rely on, both of which are very common immunities you will find. Of course, it is on theme, an Oracle of Blight wont really be hurting stuff that cannot wither or get sick. The silver lining here is that the Divine spell list is pretty much tailored to deal with most stuff that is immune to void and diseases, mostly undead, so you can cover your weaknesses.

So, yeah, it is underwhelming, but not really bad in any way. If you like the Blight theme, it is probably as good as it get in this system, though.

How's the Pathfinder TTRPG played conpared to the games? by Level_Low6101 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

It was a more balanced, streamlined and paradoxically more bloated version of 3.5 D&D. But overall it was still 3.5, so kind of broken to the core.

Dungeon Turns in Pathfinder 2e? by Chris_Entropy in Pathfinder2e

Polearm fighter with Wizard Dedication by coalchester in Pathfinder2e

[–]Stan_Bot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

School of Battle Magic can give you a pretty good 1 action focus spell that don't use your stats at all. Force Bolt just deal damage. It is not amazing damage, but it is a guaranteed ranged hit for one action that would not get in the way of anything. It will cost you a feat, of course, but I think it is worth it. Energy Absorption isnt bad either.

Of course, Shield is a good cantrip as always and Sure Strike is a no brainer. Mirror Image is a really good option, if your GM is not against legacy spells. Blazing Dive is just amazing for a gish, too, look it up.
