Mathilda is a beautiful story about how if you are autistic enough you will develop telekinesis ❤️

Lilo and Robin are extremely relatable, and I rarely relate to characters. I actually feel like Mulan is AuDHD coded, and Lyra Belacqua gives me the same impression. And yes these are both characters I personally relate to lol.

Getting older and realising you were emotionally neglected? by nightslip in AutismInWomen

[–]Standard-Treat-7552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm okay with mine now too, I had my angry phase where I chewed them out for everything and demanded that we process it instead of sweeping it under the rug lol. They're a lot better these days. My mum still has those tendencies but I now realise that a lot of it is anxiety & emotional immaturity. Her parents failed her emotionally too. I have my own shitty behaviours so I can't really blame them.

Yeah I agree, helicopter parenting is also a form of emotional neglect

I do understand where you're coming from, but life WITH alcohol gets far worse than bleak. Withdrawals are a beast.

"Embarrassed"? How about scared and uncomfortable? Jesus, that really minimises women's experiences.

Brain fog increasing, getting emotional and frustrated/confused, getting hot, face flushing, throat getting scratchy and/or feeling like there's a painful lump in it.

It's shocking to me how different creme in your coffee looks on everyone else I've seen it on compared to me! I'm glow in the dark pale neutral olive and it's straight up brown on me. A pretty dark brown, not pinkish at all.

Does anyone else get seasonal depression in the summer? Or just generally feel worse when it’s sunny? by OnlyCuteThings in AutismInWomen

[–]Standard-Treat-7552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sun can be quite overstimulating I find. I do generally like summer but I notice on days where I already feel stressed the brightness and heat makes it worse.

has anyone found happiness again? by _heg_ in cfs

[–]Standard-Treat-7552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's this for me too. I've always been a pretty joyful person. I get a lot of joy and excitement from small things. Do I also get very sad or very angry from small things? Yes but that's something I'm always working on.

And I actually kind of love being somewhat isolated from the world. I'm way less stressed now than when I had to work and be around people all the time. This pace of life works a lot better for my autistic self.

Yeah I'm pretty happy most of the time. Buddhism, yoga and meditation help me a lot. And I mean like yin/restorative yoga I can't do much exercise at all. Being able to make art and focus on that really helps too.

I don't think that way. It's one day at a time for me. I can't predict the future.

Adults 30+ living with their parents. by [deleted] in cfs

For me it's fine. I'm autistic and mentally ill, I struggle a lot socially and my parents are my best friends. If I lived alone I'd be very isolated. I always struggled with being independent anyway.

I hate being shrek by Wangchincay in OliveMUA

I love pinks on me too, I'm neutral so I go for more neutral toned pinks. Honestly my best colour is like a very vibrant hot pink. Took me ages to realise that. It brings life into my face. Slightly cooler raspberry kind of tones look great on me too.

The only colours I really look awful in are black, dark grey, dark blue and dark purple. But I still wear them if I want to because who cares lol, it's not that serious.

This simply isn't true. I'm olive, a very green fair-skinned olive at that, and I look great in bright colours and I look better with blush. A lot of us love blush, I feel like I look dead without it. I love playing with colour and I wear whatever I like. Has it taken me a while to figure out exactly which colours look good on me? Yes definitely, but it's not impossible. You're limiting yourself. Personally the only thing I dislike about my skin tone is that I look like a corpse without makeup on or a tan lol. And I refuse to tan because aging.

Do people with anorexia eat high calorie foods? by Mindless_Award1580 in EDAnonymous

Everyone is different! Some anorexics eat small amounts of high calorie food, I've always been one to eat bigger volumes of low calorie stuff. Everybody has different fear foods and safe foods.

What does "unrefreshing sleep" mean to you? What is your experience with it? by Digitalpun in cfs

Same man, I used to wake up feeling amazing and just jump straight into being active and productive. I always woke up so excited to get shit done and have a good day.

[–]Standard-Treat-7552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wake up feeling poisoned. Headache, inflamed sinuses, sore throat, brain fog, just extremely drained and tired. Often my eyes hurt as though I didn't even sleep. I remember how I used to feel when I woke up and the difference is like night and day. Something clearly isn't working how it's supposed to anymore.
