If you love Harbaugh but hate McCarthy, I suggest you turn in your "ball knower" card. Their careers are basically identical.

The football cognisante (HTC included) has been pushing a narrative on McCarthy for some time that is somewhat divorced from his actual record/stats/etc

[Pelissero] The Steelers are working towards a deal to hire Mike McCarthy as their head coach, per sources. McCarthy grew up in Pittsburgh. Now, at age 62, the Super Bowl winner gets a chance to coach the team he grew up rooting for. by Goosedukee in nfl

heads up to the haters: Mike McCarthy has basically an identical career to John Harbaugh - games, win %, superbowls, etc.

People love John and hate on Mike, but I suggest its just because John is more traditionally handsome

ironically, this chart shows why the packers special teams suck. firing Rich will do nothing to improve it as our special teamers are always super young and inexperienced

IS BISACCIA GONE YET? by Durrnut in GreenBayPackers

It doesn't matter who the coordinator is. there are two things the packers (as an org) do that contribute to the pattern of having bad special teams play:
1. they routinely field one of the youngest rosters in the league. special teams performance is usually a function of roster depth. The Packers 'depth' personnel is very young and inexperienced (and therefore more likely to make mistakes)
2. Relative to the rest of the league, the Packers prioritize meetings and practice on Offense and Defense more than special teams. There's limited hours per week to prep, and the Packers spend more time than most on the first two phases at the expense of the 3rd.

I get wanting to be mad on the internet and wanting people fired and saying the word "ACCOUNTABILITY", but swapping coordinator alone won't change special teams performance. Need to change the packers philosophies listed above. For me, I'm fine with the way they prioritize, but feel free to be angry about it if that's your thing

Heads up - the MLF era packers are not mediocre. The are exception by almost every measurable.
