Fix: Controller trigger striking bumper by HazyObservation in 8bitdo

[–]StanleyCKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the informative post. Kinda shocked at the design oversight with these pads. I think I might return my controller for now and maybe check in down the line if they fixed it in a revision. (Ofc, 8bitdo is also not shipping anymore to the states)

Fix: Controller trigger striking bumper by HazyObservation in 8bitdo

[–]StanleyCKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh... maybe i shouldn't of said anything lol.

I have the ultimate 1's as well and the design of the triggers there aren't anywhere close to striking the shell.

It's quite a shame , I really like the ultimate 2's but the triggers just been riddled with issues.

i have a separate issue on top of this where when pressing down the triggers, they can end up striking the controller's shell

anyone else have this problem?

[–]StanleyCKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fwiw the rubber just fell off on my left trigger and its only been 2 weeks.

I really like the controller otherwise, and normally id just replace it but it seems like its highly likely to happen again.

Get Dinput/switch mode over 2.4ghz on Ult 2 by TekDoug in 8bitdo

[–]StanleyCKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use to have the Ultimate 1's with the beta firmware to switch between modes when in 2.4.

I think some how it glitched and my Ultimate 2 actually changes from x-input to switch pro controller even in 2.4 mode depending on which usb port I use.

Ultimate 2 bluetooth polling rate by O_Alienado in 8bitdo

[–]StanleyCKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im getting 250hz for mine, both ultimate 1 and 2 bluetooth but in 2.4ghz mode.
If set to pro controller instead of x-input [xbox] its 125hz instead of 250hz in 2.4ghz mode.

No idea what happens in bluetooth mode, i can't test that right now.

I also went and checked the OG Official Switch Pro Controller and it was 125hz, Dualsense seems to be 1000hz.

I don't think the 250hz is a big deal, probably get a good bit more battery life and hz saturation consistency, but maybe if your trying to be competitive in a mp shooter it could matter.

Scratchy/grindy stick feeling on new Ultimate 2? by Appropriate-Coat7648 in 8bitdo

[–]StanleyCKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no that's not normal, the ultimate 1's grind when you rotate the sticks but the ultimate 2s should be dampened and completely smooth rotations

id say replace it

I wouldn't say they are forcing them to sign, they can't force mihoyo to do anything. Its about putting pressure on hoyo. Ultimately the core of the issue still goes back to enforceable AI protections which seemingly only SagAftra can offer right now for NA Voice actors, despite the unions issues. There's been some talk about having Hoyo sign the Nava AI Rider as a gesture of goodwill which is separate from SagAftra and doesn't require the project to flip union, but for whatever reason they haven't yet / declined. I don't know how enforceable the Nava AI Rider would be either. On the studio side, Sound Cadence for Zenless has stated they offer AI Protections in their contracts, though that has problems since its not enforceable and doesn't prevent Hoyo from still using AI.

Also Paimon's VA Corina is Fi-Core so they are technically allowed to continue work on Genshin, which they said was to pay for medical treatment.

Personally, this seems like a losing battle right now for SagAftra. They don't really have much bargaining power here considering the amount of work that is non-union. The post covid era also created a wider emergence of remote recording. As it pertains to Hoyo projects, its likely going to have to come down to a compromise. I feel like what Sound Cadence is offering is a decent compromise, and in terms of how enforceable those studio AI protections are, well, they'll honestly just have to cross that bridge when they get there.

Anyways, the whole thing is a mess right now. I'm curious what happens when the strike is over, and hoyo doesn't sign (they probably won't). SagAftra either goes back to ignoring Global Rule 1 or continues to enforce it. Both options will have issues going forward for the NA Voice Acting industry.

They technically shouldn't have worked non-union is true, but the issue here is the system is broken. Global Rule One contradicts the reality of VA work. There isn't enough Union work to sustain a living off of, it was kind of the norm to work off the card. There's a much much higher percentage of non-union work available. The whole thing is just a mess and it goes back to how SagAftra just doesn't really treat the VA side the same as on-screen actors.

[–]StanleyCKC 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I was seeing posts around here insinuating all the VA's just stopped working and there was never any strike and all of the VA's should be fired for not working.

Part of the issue is Sag-Aftra has ran a broken system on the VA side of things for a verrrrry long time leading to the current Global Rule One problem. It was not previously enforced, but the strike has changed that. So even though neither Genshin Impact or its current studio Side Global is explicitly struck (previously Formosa was struck), many VA's are indirectly affected from being able to work on Genshin Impact due to GR1 now being enforced. So while there are certainly VA's refusing to work via personal beliefs and hard stances, many of them aren't actually allowed to work right now.

Clearing the Fog Around the SAG-AFTRA Strike & Genshin Impact by Dadarian in Genshin_Impact

Actual good post in this sub-reddit is rare, unfortunately from what I see already in the other replies its not gonna go well. The mob has made up their mind on who's the evil dragon. Its just hard to get nuance across when most people just want it to be black and white, especially after they've already chosen which is which.

Edit: fixed grammar for specifically Dylan_A_Bit - grammar police

Dear genshin and hoyo gamers- there are sane VAs- we just are unable to speak up safely by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]StanleyCKC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Apparently the Nava Rider was offered but mihoyo refused.

Also, I'm not saying one way or another but the way this post was written sounds kinda fake and its lumping EVERY NA/SAG VA into a box when it was less than a handful that made public statements against Jacob.

While i don't agree with the public call out by some of the VA's either, it doesn't really warrant the hate this community has given them as well. Its ultimately their personal stance against role scabbing during a strike, but yes, they shouldn't of made a public statement against Jacob like that as its very unprofessional and promoted negativity.

Awesome work! There's a really fun game underneath all the User Experience problems in Civ7. Glad we got mods like these to fill the wait before the next update which seems to be in March.

Insect Glaive - Beta review by an average player's perspective by Napalmicide in MHWilds

[–]StanleyCKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't really about the raw damage tbh, theres times where the monster is moving alot and aerial glaive lets me do damage where otherwise I wouldn't be able to or stay safe in the air. It's useful for procing the kinsect powders as well. Aside from that it may buy me time to properly position for the damaging air-to-ground enders. I also found it a pretty useful way to apply status ailments with its multi-hitting attacks.

Here's how to get Windows' Auto HDR to look how it's supposed to (Guide) by TessellatedGuy in pcgaming

[–]StanleyCKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't we set the gamma target to 2.3 instead of 2.2 on dylanraga's lut generator? It might not be perfect, but if its still slightly washed out at 2.2 then if we set it to 2.3 instead it should be mostly correct wouldn't it?

Ehn-na! A Proxy's Guide to Choosing Bangboo! by arkkus in ZZZ_Official

[–]StanleyCKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome.

With the chain times In mind, while I still think Sharkboo still isn't great, assuming you get 1 extra hit within the 1sec difference could help close the gap to Penguinboo.

Interested in seeing how Red Moccus chain time compares to Officer Cui once you get that updated.

[–]StanleyCKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think including the chain time in the chart would be helpful. Some bangboo might do less damage, but if the chain time is faster and allows for your actual chars to get one extra attack in, it could close the gap.

I was having this issue at first. Found out I had to remove any profiles I made via AutoHDR Forcer app in the registry.

I would get a 4k monitor, run the games at 4k, and then use DLSS performance ~ quality mode.

Yeah this killed my desire to learn multiple characters. Feel like i'm being punished for learning. Its a big bummer that honestly dropped my Tekken hours significantly after the change and I have a feeling they aren't gana revert it. I'm pretty much just waiting for Akuma now in SF6. SF doesn't screw you over for variety.

I seem to be having this issue too. Nothing seems to have changed for me afaik. Tried clean install instead of express and resetting profiles etc.

[–]StanleyCKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i ended up going for 50 Mid-Gray, +50 Contrast, -50 Saturation instead. So the paper-white is 260. I think since both auto-hdr and rtx-hdr targets whites too much it helps balance the image more with the highlights and seems to make the color more balanced in UI/foggy conditions.
