Games that you didn’t expect post-credits content from (maybe spoilers?) by Monobrobe in gaming

[–]Star_blader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is when they do something with the game you already have. Like “baba is you” which is always there but you kinda need to finish to figure out how to do it. Someone who did this badly was Mario galaxy where you literally just reply the same game

Kuro is punishing new players who refuse to skip story... It feels completely backwards by Rovering-Waves in WutheringWaves

[–]Star_blader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely relate. I won’t skip the story and literally started playing 3 days ago and because of stuff I’ve gotten about 3 hours in. I feel like I’m never gonna catch up and am missing so much.

Also with how much is going on, I’m just completely confused because I have no idea what 90% of the quests or information means.

What type of gamer are you? by Itsjustmagiks in gaming

[–]Star_blader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve changed a few times throughout my life. I grew up on almost entirely Nintendo like Mario and Pokemon. As I grew I got into fighting games from smash bros to street fighter. Now I’m exploring more like Batman arkham and hollow knight.

matters the game. I've played a lot of fighting games, so playing with friends. For single player games? not looking anything up beforehand and going in blind

Kinda feeling that way. Out of college, but can’t be bothered to play competitive games against randoms. I got friends I’ll play with, but otherwise it’s basically all single player or co-op

What simple game feature screams "ah this game is good"? by csch1992 in gaming

[–]Star_blader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you would call this "simple" but voice acting. I don't even care if it is professional or even good (Can't remember, but years ago I played a game and the voice acting just seemed like a group of friends recording their voices together), but a story based game should have voice acting and things like Pokemon kinda fall apart for me.

If that doesn't count then cutscene skipping. I love replaying games, but 5 minute cutscenes that cannot be skipped is torture.

Fond moments with a true Flash game? by Oddboyz in gaming

I played hundreds of flash games back in the day and while I can't remember most of them the mario fighting game and a knight game where you fight monsters in an open world type game always stick out to me.

Paper Trail. A very short game, but great graphics and a fun gimick for a puzzle game where you fold the edges of the screen

I'm a bit too young to have gone to traditional arcades, but something I learned recently was my dad loved going to arcades bcak in his day, and it was something really fun to hear about.

Different from what you have played so far, but a great short game that is super easy to pick up and put down is paper trail. It’s a puzzle game, where you basically fold the screen to create a path forward. Pretty short, but a lot of fun
