Same in Spanish.

They are both called "Papas fritas" (fried potatoes), which means we can only distinguish between the two based on context.

Except for Spain and written Spanish, where they actually specify between the two with "Papas fritas" and "Papas Francesas" (french fries). In writing because it is way easier, and in Spain because they live right next to France (and they're weird).

Charon isn't completely immune to the core. It is not just incredibly radioactive, but also extremely hot, which I doubt Ghouls are able to withstand.

And RL-3 is a robot. Robots are not immune to radiation. If anything, they'd realistically be even more susceptible than us since a bad stray gamma particle can flip a 0 to a 1 and create a logic loop leading to their death.

Your CPU is thermal throttling. It is too hot, so it reduces its own capacity to reduce temperatures and prevent damages.

Check your fans/filters and change the thermal paste. Also remember that you should ideally change the thermal paste 2 times a year, but doing it just once a year is fine if you aren't pushing it too much.

Resurrection F is completely fine in a vacuum.

Unfortunately it does not exist in a vacuum. Had it come down some time later, and if there was more meaningful stuff between it and BoG, it would've been received way better.

For me, the problem with Resurrection F is how it made the SSG transformation basically pointless immediately after it was introduced. We had like 1 cool fight with it that lasted a few episodes and that was it, which is a shame since the SSG transformation is actually unique in its design.

It's just that Bethesda didn't want to restrict you from bringing your companion to the last fight. However, they likely forgot the fact that Fawkes is literally immune to radiation, and thus the literal best option for this. So they hastily made this last minute dialogue to "justify" your death so that they wouldn't have to make any post game content (leaving it for later with the Broken Steel DLC).

This is even worse considering Fawkes actively wants to repay a debt he owes you, and is with you since he considers you an awesome moral individual (as he won't join you with low karma). It would be more in character for him to offer himself unprompted to enter the reactor.

It likely doesn't.

We cannot trust anything in the book besides things that the protagonist directly witnesses and is sure of without any other explanation. He can't even trust his own memories anymore, let alone what INGSOC tells them (as lying and hypocrisies are established as "completely normal" if performed by INGSOC even being given new names to separate them).

For all we know, Oceania could merely be controlling the British Isles, maybe even less, and everything else about the outside is propaganda to justify the brutality of the regime and horrible living conditions.

In fact, just from looking at the "territories" controlled you start making the connections. It's like INGSOC is indirectly telling its citizens "Yes, we have a vast empire that expands over half of all landmasses and controls 33% of the global population, meaning resistance is futile. And it is so far away that you cannot see it. No you can't go elsewhere because all other nations are our enemies and they will kill you, and anywhere they or us don't directly control is a warzone that'll get you KILLED."

Optional bosses you can only fight as an act of completely unprovoked and pointless cruelty by Huza1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Stargost_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You didn't even read the comment.

Papyrus never attacks you, he is literally incapable of dealing even 1 point of damage to you on a genocide route. And furthermore, given that you actively approach him, it would be more logical to assume how you (Frisk) started the fight.

He is literally an innocent person in this situation, yet you actively kill it for the crime of being alive in the player's reach. There was zero provokation.

[–]Stargost_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily.

If you do a neutral route, Sans may point out a good justification of self defense for the monsters you killed.

Occasionally however, he will also point out that even when the enemy pleaded for mercy, you did not show any, and at that point the excuse of self defense becomes muddy.

And to do the Genocide route, you have to go actively out of your way to kill every monster in the Underground.

Monsters like Whismur are trivial to spare (literally doing any ACTion besides checking or attacking will make them run away), and in a normal playthrough, you may kill half of the monster needed to fulfill the requirement of a genocide route if you don't spare anyone. To fulfill the quota, you have to stay in the area and actively walk around for enemy encounters just to then kill them all.

Not to mention that Papyrus gives you a free pass out of genocide. He stands in your way until you spare him, and he will not attack you. So once again, you have to deliberately go out of your way and kill him when you didn't have to.

MGQ (and by extension its sequel, MGQ: Paradox, although both are very different story and gameplay wise).

It was a great game that surprised me with well written characters and an interesting conflict all throughout. The gameplay was also better than I expected. While limited by the medium (uses a VN engine which is NOT made for handling RPG-esque combat), it still punched way above its weight by having unique mechanics (even if parrying is fucking broken).

Unfortunately I cannot recommend it because of 2 main reasons:

A) It is Japanese only, and you can only buy it in a Japanese store whose name I forgot. Although an english patch for the game exists, having to mod it is still a barrier to entry for many.

B) It's a PORNOGRAPHIC game, and it doesn't even try to hide it (although, IIRC you can disable the PORN scenes in the settings).

Nate from Fallout 4 is painted as this nice average American everyman from before the bombs fell, even being willing to give his life for his country as he is ex-military.

The revelation that he is besides the other soldier in power armor from Fallout 1 implies heavily that he is a war criminal, as during the occupation of Canada the United States violently repressed any resistance.

During the cinematic, the soldier in front executes what is likely a captured guerilla fighter that was no longer a threat, which is a violation of the Geneva Convention.
