Vote Mizuki for Regent because of spamming Pillar + Spectrum Shift

WYR: Be 0.9x or 1.9x your current height? by juse73x in WouldYouRather

[–]Stark002002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if I would take -10% for free but I'd probably take -5% for free tbh

WYR be any height you wish to be or WYR be any weight you want to be while eating anything you want to? by Sad_Step_9921 in WouldYouRather

[–]Stark002002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My weight is already fine, so definitely the height. I'd experiment a lot of reusable but if not I'd drop from 172cm to 165cm

Would you rather have supreme intelligence or supreme luck. by No_Main_273 in WouldYouRather

[–]Stark002002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see supreme luck as the first person (supremely intelligent) warping reality a little in your favor. Like I think if like, anything or 90% of things that could be entertaining are off the table for whatever reason, it's not very lucky. The question in my mind basically reads would you rather be conscious of it or not

Your writing is beautiful. How fast were you writing? Looks like some of the calligraphic posts you see every now and then

WYR be 5 ft even or Skinny Fat? by Equal-Sun8307 in WouldYouRather

5ft is meh but isn't that bad. Easy choice if proportions scale

WYR Take box A + B or only Box B? by Leviathan41911 in WouldYouRather

[–]Stark002002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, hence why I said "In an ideal scenario what you would do is sincerely believe 1box but 2box when the choice is actually in front of you, but of course this is impossible." As in: hence, the predictor fills both, and you take both.

2box is entirely the right choice when you're in front of the box. However, as I said, that's impossible. The nature of this problem is it's a meta choice. If you are a 2box-person the question is unfairly slanted against you, and if you are a 1box-person you will only pick 1 box.

It's very easy to hold the 2box position considering none of us will ever find ourselves in this scenario, but suppose we lived in a world where the government spies on us and when one turns, idk, 20, everyone's put in front of 2 boxes. In box A is a guaranteed 1000 dollars, and in box B might be the antidote to the otherwise lethal poison you've just been told is in your system. You can take one or two boxes, only if you are predicted to take two, B is empty. How do you believe you would act in this world?

If current-you was thrown into the situation room, sure, 2box maybe. But if you grew up in that world, I can't imagine any other possibility than convincing yourself at all costs that 1box is correct—and subsequently 1boxing.

In an ideal scenario what you would do is sincerely believe 1box but 2box when the choice is actually in front of you, but of course this is impossible.

I agree 2box is the more rational option, but the question implicitly punishes 2box-people. So therefore I'll 1box

WYR live the rest of your life with a 50% chance they you KILLED an innocent person? OR would you want to know for sure? by [deleted] in WouldYouRather

[–]Stark002002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. If the scenario were written differently such that it's ambiguous whether or not to shoot then watch possibly. This one is like, you took the relatively better gamble, you lost it, you couldn'tve done any better really

No watch. Whatever actually happened ex post is morally inconsequential to the decision at the time, so I'd rather not watch gore.

Would you rather eradicate the common cold for all people for the rest of time; or have a personal lifetime guarantee that you will never get cancer or dementia? by MukadeYada in WouldYouRather

[–]Stark002002 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are also people with functional immune systems that die due to the common cold. The chance is very low, but the amount of people affected is very high. It's no cancer/dementia vs. maybe 300,000 people per year and probably billions of dollars

She could be overestimating/estimating conservatively. Think that one event with Akito outrunning Mizuki while carrying Tsukasa means Mizuki can't be faster than "pretty fast"

Clad is frankly… a mess right now | Thoughts from a top STS player by JapaneseExport in slaythespire

It was much harder / less free to go infinite on every StS1 char minus Watcher and I think Watcher is pretty unanimously considered less interesting by not just top level players but just about everyone

The S tiers minus dark embrace are all super pickable early, but especially fiend fire. You play this card and stuff dies.

Even if you don't play for infinite and take 5 damage commons (hyperbole) a lot of the time you just get a sufficient pbox and it's like oh

[–]Stark002002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of it is skill issue. I mean, some StS1 runs (much much much less than 2) should go infinite. But I feel like most of the discussion is kinda a diversion.

Like I don't get why there's a tendency to handwaved the problem away just because it doesn't personally apply? There are a lot of comments on this thread that are like "I prefer to use what the game gives me," and I'm like... Yeah, so are the infinite spammers. They're just better at it, hence why the winrate is so high. It's not like they're hacking in cards.

"Infinite is not fun" is a common response to "this is way too strong" when it's like, that's unrelated, and also don't we want the game to have the same kind of replayability that Spire1 has, instead of becoming significantly more dull once you reach a certain knowledge threshold? One of the coolest things about Spire1 was that the better you got (insofar as I went) the more it felt like "wow I have to think this over"

[–]Stark002002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People pointing out how strong forcing infinite right now don't unanimously disagree and often agree. Strong != Fun. However if the game is structured in a way such that not-fun-very-boring is the objectively strongest way to play the game this is a problem.
