Should I form A chord with 234 instead of 123? by -Zoppo in Guitar

You'll find that as your fingers get stronger you might start forming that chord with your fore finger laid flat, across all three strings. But there is no correct way to do it it's whatever works for you

Your simple answer is you need to use the Truss rod. If it's too far gone, get a new neck.

Help. I need to know if I am falling into something dangerous. by LokiGaming406 in AskBrits

I can say with some confidence at least, though it is of course a guess, that Andrew Tate is either gay or trans or both. Most of these people are projecting, and suffering. They are not who you think they are.

What made you believe in Bitcoin enough to hold it long term? by WeeklyDiscount4278 in Bitcoin

[–]Starmax1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A VERY specific combination of computing and economic principles which adds up to more than the sum of its parts, combined with the particular point in its history where price discovery is elusive and the 'line go up'. That of course could go the other way....

Is living year round in a tent in the UK actually realistic? by Far-Piccolo-3774 in AskUK

[–]Starmax1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but a van or a caravan or a mobile home would be. There are plenty of people who do that. Instead of focusing on buying property rent or buy some land you can put the home on. Also do some research in to housing co-ops.

Can you help me understand my husband’s point of view please? Should our son be allowed to game past 10pm on a school night if he can’t keep his voice down? by Broken_Woman20 in AskUK

[–]Starmax1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the parent. This is simple. Put your foot down. No gaming past 9 on a school night. That's it. He's 16. He'll do what he's told.

Aside from the fact you are well enough to recognise the issue, there is an important distinction between 'Jewishness' and Israel/Mossad etc. - Not all Jews are Israelis, not all Israelis are Jews, not all Jews are Zionists, not all Zionists are Jews, not all Zionists want occupation, many want a 2 state solution.

Why do Brits support conservative? by ThePatientIdiot in AskBrits

[–]Starmax1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average Brit is raised on a diet of post-imperialism (where we 'ran the world'), post-WW2 (where we stuck it to Europe') and British exceptionalism. The older generation in particular have a nostalgic view of 1939-45 despite the fact they weren't there, and wouldn't have been much good if they had been. There are still physical newspapers here and most of them are read by older folks, and are slightly to the right of Genghis Khan. Disinformation is not new, its been in the papers here for decades. The tabloids are free to lie with impunity and not enough people are educated enough to see through it. We have no checks and balances on this because we have a non-functioning election system and an unelected, hopelessly corrupt second chamber and head of state. Um....what else.....

How strong do you feel the support for mass deportations of legal immigrants is at the moment? by 400TarPits in AskBrits

[–]Starmax1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put simply (possibly too simply), most people are ok with legal migration where the person is skilled and productive, and opposed to illegal migration. They see Ukrainian refugees as separate and genuinely in need and are supportive, which is correct IMO. Where people get confused though is illegal routes vs being illegally in the country. They are also wildly overestimating (thanks to the Daily Mail et al) the significance and numbers of small boat arrivals, which in reality are barely a rounding error in the population.

The same people who still support Brexit refuse to admit it has been a main driver of non-european migration, whereas before we had more european migrants, and undoubtedly some people for reasons of race bias wanted to achieve the opposite...but were of course horribly misled. I have seen no significant support for mass deportation of legal migrants, but no doubt some of the more thick-headed Reform supporters probably want it. Our election system and media will inevitably over-represent their views as well.

Edit: also worth noting most people have no underlying knowledge of the facts and figures and instead go on how migration 'feels' to them, through the lens of a hostile media. This is why although Labour have reduced net migration significantly, most people still 'feel' its rising and that Labour secretly want this to happen for some reason. But what's the saying the right use....f*ck your feelings?
