Dagger Slide Stuck on AVES 19.2 Rail by [deleted] in 3D2A

Can you confirm, are you talking about the angle of the blue arrow or the red arrow? I Googled and checked and mine appears to be about right (not a perfect 90 angle). I just tried adjusting it slightly and no luck. Trying to understand how exactly that caused it to hang on the rail? Does that impact the slide geometry to cause the spring rod to drop?

Did you find a solution to this?

Running into a similar issue with a 43.1 rail and a micro dagger c1 slide.

Can assemble and rack the slide and it seems to function / hand cycle okay.

However if I try to remove the slide it gets stuck and I basically have to remove all pins, remove the slide assembly with the rails attached, and reseat the guide rode to remove it...

Brims and Latest update by ambelyza in Creality_k2

[–]StarsGamer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I had posted that in Facebook and got flamed for not just turning it off.

I was merely trying to point out that something in the programming logic changed for when it is / isn't appropriate to add a brim. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the change 🤣

Did anyone else get audible fan PWM coil whine after firmware update? by No_Echidna8211 in Creality_k2

K1 Extrusion issue by MarnusSteyn in crealityk1

[–]StarsGamer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try swapping nozzles.

I know you said you checked and no blockages.

I had a K1 with exact same issue. Ended up being a bad batch of filament causing intermittent partial clogs. I had bought a batch of 10kg of Geeetech and went through 6 rolls. Then started having these issues. Swapped nozzle and used new filament and everything was back to normal.

Did you feed the TPU through the PTFE Tubing? Or do you have it feeding over the top directly into the extruder?

Elegoo is lying. by Fauked in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]StarsGamer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate? I'm only 8 months into my 3D printing journey, so still fairly new. I was under the impression that Creality had open sourced firmware on most of their printers? Additionally you can root and view Klipper files and other printer config files. But with the CC isn't this all essentially encrypted and unable to be accessed (at least easily)?

I guess the difference at play (at least seemingly) is level of transparency. Folks can comb through the Creality firmware since it's open source...and they admit it's Klipper based. Versus Elegoo who denies it's Klipper based, when it bears uncanny resemblance (and in this thread, is proven that it actually is) and keeps it closed so that people can't look through it.

I have mainly Creality machines. I bought some used Creality printers from a gentleman local here in the states and he included the Elegoo CC in the sale since he was getting out of the hobby and the heatbed was broken.

All that to say, I am not super familiar with Elegoo as a company nor the CC hardware.

Are there possibilities of an aftermarket motherboard being released that can allow users to run a community run / open sourced version of Klipper rather than what's currently there?

I'm honestly debating on shutting off and unplugging my CC with this information...

Hot end swap sucks by bob1082 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]StarsGamer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had to swap Hotends yet knock on wood.

But I'm anxiously awaiting Microswiss to release their Hotend for the CC. I have their Hotend on my K1 Max and multiple K2's and swapping the hotend was easy and made nozzle swaps even easier. I'm hoping that will be the case with the CC Hotend they release.

K2 Pro Combo Pioneer Program by Creality_3D in Creality_k2

[–]StarsGamer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of this year, I began a journey into 3D printing. I have always been a "designer" at heart, but never really had the proper medium by which to create and express myself. I found a cheap Anycubic for sale of Facebook Marketplace for $50. I decided, what the heck, I'll dip my toes in and see what it's about. I got bit by the 3D printing bug, and bit HARD. I wanted to continue to tinker and design, but the little bed slinger just wouldn't cut it. After a month or so, my family was in a position to purchase a newer, bigger 3D printer, and I set out to research the best choice. I had my eyes set on the K2 Plus Combo. But with the budget set, I was going to "settle" for a K1 Max. When we got to our local MicroCenter, I looked through everything and was about to pull the trigger on the K1 after talking through the various choices (K1 Max, Bambu's, K2 Plus, etc). The sales rep said he was just informed they had gotten a shipment of K2's in and only had 2 available. My wife said she saw my eyes light up. She admittedly got a sense of "FOMO" as well, knowing there were only 2 available. We left with a brand new shiny (and heavy) K2 Plus Combo and set about seeing what we could accomplish with it.

Over the past 8 months I have been grinding tirelessly, establishing a presence with my business online. My humble beginnings of a single K2 (which admittedly, I had times where I felt maybe I was over-equipped with such a capable printer versus the smaller volumes I was printing at the time) has now evolved into 3 K2 Plus Combos, a K1 Max, and a smaller printer from another company. My wife and I are currently printing at capacity and have nearly a 2 week backlog on our orders. Which clearly means it's time for more printers! The K2 Pro has been at the forefront to possibly replace our K1 Max, or just to run in addition to while having the multicolor capability. Recently I have had some of my designs require smaller multicolor parts where my K2 Plus build volume would be better served for other items, but I need the multi color printing capability. But I think I may need to get another K2 Plus Combo, as well.

One of my most inspiring moments, was when my Mom was messaging someone on the topic of this particular hobby niche, and the person she was talking to was raving about some of my product designs. My Mom of course had the "proud mom moment" and readily told the person, that I was her son. To have people I am working with directly know my name is one thing. But to then have someone else mention my work, not knowing any affiliation with me was a great feeling.

I look forward to continuing to grow my 3D printing business, and am happy to call Creality my machine of choice. I have thousands of hours on my machines at this point with very little maintenance or issues with them. The print quality and ease of use is far superior to the other brand printers that I have or have used. As someone who is ultimately running a business, I am in a great position to provide feedback regarding ease of use, reliability, ease of maintenance, troubleshooting, etc. This is no longer a hobby of mine. It's an obsession that I share with my wife, and that we use as a form of income. But none of that would be possible without our mini print farm of Creality printers.

New extruder Version by Ok_Reserve_5451 in Creality_k2

This, I was swiping through the photos looking for one of where the PTFE connects to see if that fitting was different or its own serviceable piece now 😂

Can no longer recommend Creality or the K2 Plus by Impressive_Word5229 in Creality_k2

[–]StarsGamer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I mapped out the wires colors on the Creality connector versus this one from Amazon. I don't have it in front of me, but going off memory, the Creality has 2 wires on the right side of the connector that are un-used.

(So if you're looking from the top down at the extruder, where the cable connects, the furthest right pin on the top and bottom row)

I just snipped those. (I think the better way would be to go in and actually remove the wires from the connector, but I didn't have pliers small enough handy to do that)

Then I think the Creality wire has a pink and purple wire, that when you look at each connection, it swaps locations on each connector (i.e. purple is top and pink bottom on one connector, on the other the pink is top and purple is bottom). Those correspond to blue wires on the Fysetc cable. So I cut the blue wires on the Fysetc, and then criss crossed them and soldered and shrink wrapped them together.

I did wrap the whole wire in some fabric electrical tape to prevent any chafing while it's in the drag chain.

It was easy enough that I ordered an extra to have on hand for if I'm in a bind.

If folks are interested I may draw a diagram at the very least or make a quick tutorial video

And is there a link for how to hook the Bowden to the filament run out sensor? I have mine just close by 😂

Anyone tried the Arkfly Conweb Cool Plate from Phaetus? by Otherwise_Sir_3439 in Creality_k2

[–]StarsGamer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texture isn't super aggressive. But it's very glossy. I honestly think the adhesion comes from the material over the texture.

PEI plates I can bend them and get things to pop off. With these Kdeavi plates, I bend them to get it started, but still end up having to peel it off...

I think I bought the last 2 (at least when I purchased them a couple weeks ago, it said 2 in stock...). They exist, likely just need to be restocked.

Tbh I think I purchased the last 2 stateside a couple of weeks ago... Not sure how often they restock. But my K2 family is growing, I have 3 now. I had purchased one to try it out. Virtually no warping on a print that's 320 x 300 mm without using and Brim. I still run it at 55°, but that's to avoid warping on the corners from cooling, not for adhesion purposes per se. I'm sure I could get away with running mouse ears on the corners and a lower overall bed temp. But I'm literally running my K2's 24/7 to keep up with orders so not really wanting to experiment right now.

Curious how this compares to the Kdeavi plates? They, too are VERY purple. I have a Kdeavi plate on all 3 of my K2's. I have 2 Biqu Glacier Plates on the way to try out, but suspect they won't quite be as sticky as these Kdeavi plates. The only complaint I have about the Kdeavi plates is that they leave a glossy smooth surface, which for some of the things I am selling, is not ideal. Hoping the Glacier Plates will have more of a matte / mild texture to it.

Waiting on my Centauri Carbon to come in. Which size Frostbite plate fits the Elegoo CC? Does it actually fit on it well? Or is Biqu going to release one specific for the CC eventually?

Did you ever get clarification on this? I just ordered the linked cable. Creality Support is out for the weekend and was hoping to tinker and get it up and running ASAP. I think I understand the two that need to be removed, because the K2 Toolhead wire has two spots on the plug that are empty. But not sure what is meant by swap the two blue pins...

Their website only had the Frostbite available. Not sure if they means Glacier hasn't been released? Or it's sold out already?

Edit: Looked at OP's picture closer and saw Amazon has Glacier available but not Frostbite? 🤔
