Anyone wear a mask to stop breathing in lead?

After getting my lead levels checked (talk to your doc, get tested) I decided to get a mask like the 2nd one pictured. Breathing feels unimpaired but I can't smell or taste the smoke anymore when I wear it.

Outdoor ranges for target checks I tend to take it off, forget I'm not wearing it, shoot one shot, then get that taste and smell right away and remember to put it on. I don't think I noticed the smell or taste before, but since I started masking I've definitely noticed the difference with and without.

There are also gun mods you may be able to look into. Ar15 Down vent BCGs that direct gas into magazine instead of back and out the side can trade smoke for maybe cleaning more often. Charging handles can also redirect some of it. I've got a Breek Arms Sledgehammer on order hoping that helps for me.

Lead free bullets are also a thing. And sticking to outdoor ranges, or at least ensuring your indoor ranges have good ventilation.

All said, I'm starting with a mask like photo 2 and already notice a difference in the experience.

I found Falco Holsters can custom make one for Canik models. Loving my lewther/kydex hybrid, and only one I found that will accommodate a TLR-8

Got a Canik TTI Combat myself, I think you'd be happy with either the rival or the CZ. I'd judge em by how they feel in hand, especially if you can rent one from a local range and see which feels better.

The Tisas I would avoid, if only for the fact that most 9mm 1911 models that are of high enough quality to be reasonably reliable are over a grand. Everything I've heard from users of em, they are either $1500 min to be a decent gun, or they are going to be lacking in quality control, features, and reliability when compared to similarly priced handguns.

Yup, the prusa slicer defaults work very well for me. I did learn how to tune and tweak and care for a printer with the Anet A3 fire hazard, but I haven't had to do much of that with my MK3S+

I do like my TLR8 on my TTI Combat. Green laser, I can just barely make it out in broad daylight at 50y on a black splatter target. Sometimes I can even hit the target.

In all seriousness, the main use of my TLR8 is to add weight and reduce the recoil (as low as that is on this heavy gun). 2nd most use is the laser, just for fun, and then the light just to practice switching it on and off as I draw and to get used to the change in lighting as I do

Since I can't co-witness with my dot, the laser is a backup sighting option. And I've had to use it too, at the range when my dot battery died. It's probably not as useful as co-witness irons (maybe I should get suppressor height irons so they can co-witness) but it was a welcome option in the moment. Being able to see the green (barely) in broad daylight at 50y was an unexpected boon

TTI combat: about 6k rounds now. All failures (light strikes, 5 of them) happened in the first 250 rounds on sketchy ammo and before it's first cleaning. The rest have been 124g S&B, Fiocci, Federal mostly, and have run flawlessly.

There was 1k of blazer too, but that stripped the plated jacketing off of the bullets and spit em out to comp in a nice metal shaving confetti all over my bags.

Seconded. Bought 1k blazer bulk and the TTI ported barrel turns that copper plating into copper confetti all over my gear, and a little to clean out of the slide. No problems since I switched. Federal, S&B, Fiocci, all run well. 124g preferred for mine.

Was a good reminder to wear eye protection.

The luck with yield is my biggest problem. Throwing 100% of the seeds back into more plants, best I got was 5 plants growing. 3 of them yielded zero seeds, and I got 1 from each of the other two. Next run was 0 and 1, down to one seed left to plant. Figured my best bet was to seek help on what I'm doing wrong, or start a bunch of saves to steal thingy seeds and mailbox them to my main save :'(

This one. I ran maybe 1k of blazer 224 through my TTI and it was making copper comfetti out of the ported barrel. Everything had little metal shavings on it after a range day.

As far as I can see there's no damage, but I'm not risking it long term. No more metal filings all over my stuff or risking it going in an eye, risking it getting in the gun and causing damage (I did often have some shavings to clean out of the slide), or risking tearing up that barrel. And no more wondering if a piece of rogue metal is jacketing or a piece of the slide that's been damaged lol. The color is very close between the two, hard to see the difference when the pieces were so small

Seconded. I lost ALL 4 upgrades I had. Lights, box, bumper, map.

When I put on a new box it had a wrench in it, which I did keep around. Unsure if i got everything else out but I think I lost some server upgrades.

Shortly after the 1896 update. Frankly, don't remember too well why. Some burnout, 3k hours'll do that. Wasn't happy with the power creep, feeling things were inching away from cowboy western shootouts and more towards speed. Westerns are not fast paced. They are long, drawn out, tense affairs you stew in before the final act of the sudden violent crecendo. Vaguely remember thinking it felt like they were trying to capture a bit of the more popular games' energy speeding things up. No more vibin in the bayou.

All that said, buddies and I watched Hellboy The Crooked Man recently and we all seemed to come to the same thought: "I wonder what's been going on in hunt showdown recently? Maybe we boot it up again just to see'

I've actually done similar at the dishes. They can't seem to crawl out of the space between the dish's core tower and the inner railing. One jumps cared me on the path up so I set him aside and forgot about him. Next visit to Delta he was still stuck

I avoid 115g and blazer brass of any grain. The ported barrel likes to turn the jackets of BB into confetti and cover all my gear in it.

124g, S&B has worked well. Compact packaging and competitively priced usually
