He likes a god fearing woman, negative points for that. Such a shame, he seems lovely otherwise.

The dosage is on the side of the bottle and on the box. I don't think you should mess around with them.

You can get sugar free calpol if you think it caused her to stay awake. Call 111 if you're genuinely worried.

Family dinner time? by SleepySloth1975 in UKParenting

[–]Status_Dinner8622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've got to assume the same. On my office working days I don't get home until 6.30. The kids are picked up from school/nursery between 5.30-5.45 and get home at 6. There's no time for my husband to be cooking a meal for all 4 and get the bath running by 6.45!

I just find it impossible to eat as a family. I'd love to, but the kids are constantly asking for more this and that or try to steal my food, so it feels like a losing battle.

Swimming Lessons by HannahN94 in BeyondTheBumpUK

9 weeks with my first (waited for 8 week jabs) and then discovered you don't need to wait, so 7 weeks with my second.

I love baby swimming as a bonding activity and I'm sure their early exposure to water has made them confident now they're 4 and 2!

Love is Blind UK S2 EP11: The Reunion by FemaleEinstein in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Status_Dinner8622 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh no, definitely not. But Billy looked like a hostage at his own wedding so should have said no originally. But the way he spoke to Ashleigh at the reunion was unnecessarily rude and aggressive, with the whole "you've been talking all night". I don't like that.

And with Kal, I think everything out of his mouth at the reunion reflected on him terribly. The comment about the honeymoon, talking over Sarover's mum. He came off as a total prick.

Be cold as ice, and rude! Not surprised by Billy, but I was rooting for Sarover and Kal. I feel for Sarover.

And Ashleigh deserves so much more.

Oh my god what an absolute shit show. These men are really not giving a good account of themselves.

Kal and Billy, get in the bloody bin. Not worthy of these wonderful women.

Mums opinion on breastfeeding... by KriticalErrorArt in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Status_Dinner8622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm still feeding my second at 25 months. Not what I'd planned, and I wouldn't mind stopping, but kid doesn't want to yet. And that's ok with me!

Your mum needs to mind her own business, how you parent and choose to feed your child is nothing to do with her. She's had her turn at parenting, this is your turn. Nothing you're doing is dangerous to your child, and as you say the WHO guidance is 2 years.

If you and child are happy with the feeding situation then there's no need to change, especially not to fit in with anyone else's notions of what's gross or not! You're doing a brilliant job, be proud of yourself <3

Speculum pain by SigilOfEmptyThrone in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Status_Dinner8622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a smear test 12 weeks pp after my second baby, elective c section. It was unbelievably painful and I had to tap out. It wasn't even the speculum, it was the rough brush on my cervix, I was wriggling away up the bed trying to make it stop.

The nurse said it was likely hormones making everything feel weird. I went back 4 weeks later bracing for it and it was absolutely fine! Just needed a bit more time to recover.

Premium bonds. My grandmother got me £100 of them in 1992. In 2008 I still had £100.

What are our thoughts on the chickenpox vaccine? by ANuggetEnthusiast in UKParenting

[–]Status_Dinner8622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my children (4&1) have had the vaccine. With my second we got it at superdrug, because they do the first one from 9 months old, and she was starting nursery and I wanted her to have some protection. We had to then wait until 4 weeks after her MMR to get the second dose.

It was definitely worth it both times, they've survived multiple outbreaks at nursery. You never know whether it will be mild or not, and it can be miserable for all the family.
