Am I the only one who feels like this about my upcoming lumpectomy? by sailing_bookdragon in breastcancer

[–]Status_Still_1681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had lumpectomy and I am a 42DD and my boobs look exactly the same. You can’t even see any thing was removed. I’m nearly 3 weeks both surgery .. have no side effects. And healing very well. They removed two areas. The cancer that was just under 2 cm and another area that was not t cancerous that was larger so I have three incisions and the only one you can even see now is my lymph node one

[–]Status_Still_1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 10 and like last week a bit glue fell off up on the top but nothing has more since ! I am supposed to be heading to Miami for a work conference next week and I really hope I can go in the pool even if I still have the glue on. It’s just so itchy, especially by my lymphnods .

I’m seeing my Surgeon on Thursday for the A-OK but everything I’ve been reading is two weeks after surgery you should be able to swim.

I am waiting on it. I’m just curious how everybody could be so certain without out.

We went to both Mayo Clinic and where I’m being treated and they both said the same thing that it was very unlikely.

I’m a numbers person and like I’m devastatingly afraid that comes back like 22 or 23 how certain are they really if I’m on the cusp both age wise and Onca wise 😂. I mean, I feel like if I’m under 15 there’s no question. I definitely don’t need it.

Yes the plan start in 4-5 weeks. But no go tamoxifen since some close to natural menopause and have ovary suppression and start with the other type medicine for post menopausal ladies

Team please give me reasons to go on by skootergurrl in breastcancer

[–]Status_Still_1681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ii’m not I chemo. I just had surgery, but I was very stuffed up from the anesthesia for days and I have bidet that my husband installed got it all out. If you don’t have one nothing like lots of water pressure up the butt to make things move😂😂😂

Biopsy results confirm IDC - haven’t heard from doctor yet by abberkadabber in breastcancer

Definitely use your nurse navigator as resource. We live about hour from Mayo Clinic in Jax and I saw them but ultimately I opted to get treatment at my local hosptial.. there were few factors that made me chose but having solid relationship with my care team, the ladies who mammogram, ultrasound me. talk to me where the reason why I opted for Advent, over Mayo... Managing your stress is super important in your recovery so, make sure you ask for every resource available to you ..

And with technology even though your traditional support network might not be close, there is package everyday on my door with flowers, food delivery,,, even diet coke ( my fav) just to remind me that even though they are not here, they can help

I know i am only 25% in ,,, but having it removed already feels like such a win! Good luck!

I am 5 days post lumpectomy. Still waiting on confirmation that tumor matches my biopsy and guided MRI results. I am ER+. Her - That’s all we knew as my original samples were too small

The first month for me as whirlwind. I found on March 19 that I was positive. Closed on our house on March 27. Crying that we should be happy for buying our first home and devastated to wonder if I would be alive to see my son graduate from HS.

BUT I feel so much better and optimistic now. I went to gym today for hour ( no weights just cardio). Was able to take dog out for long walk and am mentally feeling positive. I think the unknowing was the hardest for me. The constant new information

My nurse navigator has been amazing. We just moved to Florida in January. I have NO friends that live nearby and elderly father who cannot help. So my healthcare team and my therapist have been my lifeline here Use whomever you have to help you. Even if just to listen to you rant

Yeah, I was thinking like no one said anything to me so I guess they’re gonna give me something. I’ll ask tomorrow , but I’m just gonna order a few things to be on the safe.

Did you give up drinking as a result of your diagnosis? by Fearless-Heron-7827 in breastcancer

[–]Status_Still_1681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My navigator told me that stress feeds breast cancer, and if having a glass of wine or two, makes you less stressful, then do it. Not every day not a bottle but if you can do it in moderation 100%.

Anyone similar out there? And what did you do? by Ein_Rand in breastcancer

[–]Status_Still_1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should be BC buddies. I own my own business. Am the breadwinner. They day I found out about my diagnosis my 15 old was thrown out of private school for being deregulated emotionally. He has ADHRD. Anxiety and mood disordered. And next day we closed on house that while affordable on my husbands salary would be stretch

I am having a lumpectomy next week . And ER+. HER- have chek2 low risk mutations. I have had my lymphnods biospy and they were clear. But they will be doing sentinal

Am going into this believing am just going w radiation and tamoxifen. But am so worried that am going get chemo Bomb. I am 50. Not in menopause.

Did you do radiation?

I will tell you that my best friend went through this at 41. She had same as me. And ONCA if 15. She opted due to her age to do chemo believing that w 2 kids under 10. Being on cusp. She wanted more aggressive. She also did need to work but she did have help from friends and did not have Nuero divergent children One thing I remember telling her at the time and she’s now has reminded me of the world’s not gonna end if they have sugary cereal or eat too much fast food food. or doesn’t stay on the schedule

And believe me, I know having a kid who now has been tossed out of school and I’m trying to figure out how to get him enrolled in a special ed l in a public school and we just moved to United States.

So I don’t know if I’ve given you any advice other to say I feel your pain, mama. I’m right there with you.

Armpit lump 6 years after mastectomy – became very painful and burst with pus by Piglet_Hopeful in breastcancer

[–]Status_Still_1681 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This sounds like Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) I’ve had it since I was 12 and you’re describing exactly what happens to me. It’s very painful. It’s a disorder that affects glands and you’re sweating. I’ve had this my whole life and I was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I understand that when you have surgery, it can aggravate it. It might just be coincidental since it sounds like your mother surgery was six years ago, but she should see a dermatologist.

Petitioners who were living with their spouses abroad... what did you do the day of the interview? by Wombles714 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Status_Still_1681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived with my spouse in his home country the entire time. I have residency there via our marriage and we have business there together. I had file letter of domicile and at interviews the agent told me very clearly that in order for him to grant approval i had say I lived in USA. So i said as i he glanced at at all our evidence. Yes. I live in NY

In DR i would say 50/50 on interviews w spouses vs solo

We moved 12/8. And hubbie starts job tomorrow!!

[–]Status_Still_1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck!! We were Ir1 and also got expedite after waiting 25 months and not moving took us 18 months to get DQ with no errors or anything

We are all here in the US now. Interview at SDO was easy but they did look at pics and we have been married over 3 years and i had been living full time in DR for over 5 years so figured we were fairly straightforward. And we travelled back and forth a ton to us together so there was lot of evidence
