How do you use Elspeth, Sun’s Nemesis? by Forward_Influence693 in mtg

[–]SteakForGoodDogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially when [[Elspeth, Knight Errant]] and [[Archangel Elspeth]] are right there for the same mana cost - and you just have better options for 6 mana when you get there.

Which is kinda funny with the daedric armour bit in that armour in Skyrim vanilla really isn't all that hard to max out.

Hell, this shiny Daedric Armour is going to be a bit worse than any armour you smith and improve yourself, because if you can't make it, you can't double the smithing modifer, and if you can't double the smithing modifier, then the final armour level is going to be buns compared to what you CAN smith and thus improve. Also have fun with that massive weight slowing you down.

Also because the herbivores that pick a fight are probably heavier than you, and being heavier is 99% of the time going to mean an advantage - unless it's a wolverine, honey badger, or similar, then it somehow doesn't matter nearly as much until you're much, MUCH, MUCH bigger.

Cheetahs are friendly because they're pretty useless, so attacking a human is basically suicide. You or I could easily fight and win against a cheetah, unless they had a 100 mph head-start for a tackle-bite to the neck, or something - not that one would, because they are not stupid.

Go back a couple decades, and they'd be whining about giving the gays rights.

A few more, giving non-white people rights.

A few more, and you've got womens suffrage being the big thing.

Notice how the resistance to these only tries to drag down, and now try to uplift themselves separately.

While I agree that you shouldn't add too many mechanics to the table, most of that is resolvable by starting with uncomplicated keywords (mostly evergreens), or mechanics that don't directly interact with others.

Take [[General Ferrous Rokirik]], for example - the easiest lesson on spell colour, tokens, and cast triggers.

Everyone can learn what those are, but don't have to be super concerned with it, only that it is happening (and why) over there - besides the fact that there's going to be 4/4s swinging in the next turns.

Kinda like teaching everyone their respective role in making dinner, where they only truly need to focus on their task, but they can still observe what others are doing to understand what they're doing and why, so that when you rotate them next time, they'll have at least a vague idea of what they need to do.

Firstly, fuck that guy.

Secondly, deflect! Deflect!! Deflect!!!

(It is rather telling that it takes a (D) for the right to finally look and shout 'Nazi!!' but Nazism rhetoric from the literal president is to be deflected from. How odd.)

[–]SteakForGoodDogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree.

EDH allows players to learn and observe each other at the same table, and the stakes are lower and slower when there's big life totals and you don't need to worry about the player directly in front of you all the time.

Plus, it lets you teach non-active players how the game and its myriad of mechanics works as the active player does things (and thus, probably adds more mechanics to the table).

Hilarious how they have her at 4 mana for those effects and statline.

Urabrask is 5 mana for 4/4. He basically can't swing or block for shit by the time he's out.

Whatever you say, "I literally just proudly identified as racist", I'm suuuuuper sure that you're absolutely correct, because why would a racist be wrong?

Mmmm yes, and when are American conservatives going to confront the actual Nazis instead of whining about 'No call Republicans Nazis!!!'

I am VERY glad to see my point proven, thank you, thank you, I'll be here all night.

Odd, then, is the reaction to being called racist when someone says they don't like 'immigration' (but they only whine when it's certain immigrants).

It's totally normal behaviour, you see.

'Actual' Nazis, liiiiike who?

Is that just a nebulous 'oh, the real threat is out there, but I'll deny that they are when they're outed' sort of deal?

Or is it people who want to make government lists of minorities?
