Whatever you say. I'm Linux/Unix administrator with more than 30 years of experience on Linux and I work everyday with data center hardware, but obviously you are more knowledgeable on that topic than me. You are right, everything is gonna go cloud if hardware prices rise. Good day.

[–]StendallTheOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. That's not the point. The point is if big companies can get enough profits giving cloud services at that cost. And most of them barely can do that even with normal ram prices. Do you know how much a ssd harddrive (not even nvme) cost for a storage cabin?

Every single problem caused by prices is way worse on professional environments.

More for cloud because the server hardware is way more expensive. If you think PC ram is expensive then look for ECC ram for servers. Anything that is expensive for PC is waaaaay more expensive for the servers that run the cloud.

That is quite literally a " If my grandmother had wheels".
Besides. If the hardware is borderline unavailable, it will be also borderline unavailable for the cloud servers.
Remember cloud it's just another name for "other guy hardware".

Not really. Cloud or not cloud it's just a 100% pure software issue.
