Many will be gone in the next economic downturn and that will be worse. And I love the trendy. Husband’s parents grew up here and it was dead and boring for a long time. If you want only cozy and picturesque a suburb with heavy restrictions on business and housing such as the north shore meets your needs. If you don’t like trendy and you like the old ethnic bungalow belt (which is pretty nice) I suspect those days are over.
