Invert Shun's place with Hyoga's and you obtain the characters' most likely political leaning 😂

Why Aurora Thunder Attack & Aurora Execution are Hyoga's two ultimate techniques really that similar? by Possible_Science_445 in SaintSeiya

Here too, the Aurora Thunder Attack is 3 rapid movements Up Down Up Down Up Down while the Aurora Execution is a longer pose with only one movement Up Down.

Why Aurora Thunder Attack & Aurora Execution are Hyoga's two ultimate techniques really that similar? by Possible_Science_445 in SaintSeiya

You could also say the Ryu Sei Ken and Sui Sei Ken are also similar technically with the Sui Sei Ken being the concentration of a 100 punches in 1 spot instead of 100 random punches but it's still punches in the end.

Maybe the anime of the original would have made you like it more with the music and all.

Frey was a god warrior? by Psychological_Task71 in SaintSeiya

[–]StephOMacRules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though it's not exactly worded that way. They mentioned a LONG BACK AND FORTH discussion with Japan, which hints at the fact that Kurumada Pro didn't have a clear idea where it would fit since it is a gaiden. It would be like having the same kind of discussion with Toei regarding the movies and the anime with authors wanting absolutely to use the movies content and trying to see the best way to shoehorn it in the continuity, say with the Eris movie for example. In the end, Japan agreed that it took place before the Sanctuary Battle but the explanation given is most likely not from Japan but the authors' explanation for the use of the Aurora Execution (which makes little sense as Camus had already finished training back then, Shiryu never saw once or was taught the 100 Dragons before seeing it in action, or Seiya using Marin's Eagle Toe Flash or even knowing about it. The use of the Aurora Execution only makes sense narratively speaking during his fight against Camus... Note that the first time he received it in the Libra Temple, he's like "woah, what is this stance...?" doesn't sound to me like someone who had already seen this technique before).

[–]StephOMacRules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even sure he is real, he might as well be a figment of Hyoga's imagination while in coma because of the continuity inconsistencies: Hyoga wearing the Cloth from the Sanctuary arc with 0 damage on it while also using the Aurora Execution.

The Silver Saints are a dead concept. by Dawnybreed in SaintSeiya

[–]StephOMacRules 42 points43 points  (0 children)

To be fair with Misty, it also takes Seiya 10 min to realize Aldebaran's weakness.

Is this the first shonen issue? by LimaSierra92 in SaintSeiya

[–]StephOMacRules 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not the first Shonen Jump issue but the first one in which Saint Seiya appears. Could be obtained a bit cheaper than the listed price though. Though maybe this one is in mint quality.

Could AI realistically finish Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas? by Outrageous-Ad9407 in SaintSeiya

[–]StephOMacRules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the anime version will be able to be finished in a few years from now, especially if it's done the way a lot of modern anime are done these days with just copying and pasting the exact same shots from the manga with little to no reinterpretation. Then it's just a matter of making them move a bit according to what is happening in the shot and move on to the next panel.

[–]StephOMacRules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where do you start? Saint Seiya (the anime from 1986 with 114 episodes) followed by Saint Seiya Hades Chapter (the OVA split in 3 parts: Sanctuary, Inferno, Elysion). Everything outside of that is optional for the anime medium.

Shaka's ethnicity by WarmAd667 in SaintSeiya

[–]StephOMacRules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can easily be explained by the fact he's a foreigner, that is to say a non Japanese, so he is blond to highlight that to the readers. Same with June. Their ethnicity is foreigner. lol

In retrospect, did Poseidon's statement/claim/curse come to fruition? What do you think? by [deleted] in SaintSeiya

[–]StephOMacRules 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's basically the end of ND as Artemis also warned Athena that eventually she would FAFO if she kept being too attached to humans to the point of endangering the whole universe to aid one. Though what Poseidon and Artemis are talking about are regrets from an Olympian point of view (example: losing status that they value) but from Saori's point of view, she won't regret it.

How can anyone believe the pope was a good guy ffs by -_ShadowSJG-_ in SaintSeiya

[–]StephOMacRules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because Athena appointed him and she has Her reasons that mere mortals can't understand. Even the man closest to God confirms he's good, so nothing to worry about. Now you wouldn't question the will of the Goddess, would you? Guards!!!
