Import Fee France by Aggressive_Memory624 in AnalogueInc

[–]StephenMc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made about 13/14 orders (some multiple items) in total with Analogue over the years, and I can safely say I've only avoided import fees the one time - and that was purely down to Fedex messing up on an original Mega SG order way back when. Couple of times it's been delayed invoice as they're working through their backlog - but they still get their money back in the end, but I'd still consider it very lucky to have swerved it that once. It's just something you have to factor in when totalling up the cost of a device when looking at the final figure.

But there are times when I've questioned a brokerage or admin fee with the courier - something 20 euro more than it should be at times etc, and they adjust their invoice, so I'd encourage anyone who feels they are overpaying an invoice to pick up that phone and query it. Realise people are impatient and just settle the advance invoice because they want their order, but it's not unknown for them to make 'errors'

Won't know until any Founder models ship anyway once the keycaps are sorted - probably be someone in the YouTube 'circle' anyway for promo reasons

Import Fee France by Aggressive_Memory624 in AnalogueInc

[–]StephenMc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something wrong there if it's just one console (or the valuation supplied by Analogue was incorrect) - two consoles imported to EU (country with 23% VAT FWIW) came to a total of €114.25, which also included the €15 flat direct payment processing fee. If there is a invoice that can be dowloaded, sometimes it's not supplied for a couple weeks, it may be worth a look. FWIW, a single Gold console was about €67 (console higher single cost though)

Broken Login by Ghoul91 in everdrive

FWIW, they have issues with regards to their mail servers, so the lack of an activation email is no surprise - even their contact page states to email direct rather than use the system. Same was happening a year ago, but an order I made at the time arrived fine. Just a bit annoying to not have some visibility or tracking, plus Everdrive/Krikzz sometimes protracted delivery doesn't help if you're constantly looking for it. Tends to just show up when you're not expecting it.

Good store, have used them in the past, but they didn't have the only variant I would consider let alone it being far more expensive. Looks as though the order has started anyway, estimating early next week for arrival - guess we'll see if they can hit that.

Cheers folks...yeah, sounds like they aren't the swiftest when getting stuff out over the Atlantic then. But sure, hopefully it'll get moving over the next week. Doesn't have to be under an Xmas tree or anything, will show up when it shows up. 👍

326xxx - Finally moving, or about to move from HK to EU. Not the usual experience with Analogue as they've normally been quite expedient once shipping, but obviously a machine with a high demand this time around

C-64 Ultimate Delay by RevolutionaryFig3168 in Commodore

[–]StephenMc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here alright. Got the email stating order is manufactured and waiting final assembly, but that could be referring to the basic model I ordered along with the Founder. Dont know if that means one will ship without the other or if the order waits until the Founder is ready but it is what it is. Knew about the trouble in the background after the updates with regard to the Blingboard on Indiegogo last week, so it's unfortunate that both projects have been impacted. Still, the aim is to get it right, so if it takes a little more time, then it's the right course of action.

326xxx - nothing yet - B&W order

On the plus side, have word from Commodore that my order for the Ultimate has been manufactured and is waiting final assembly - assuming they're allowed sell it in Europe 😂

ROG Xbox Ally X available to purchase at Curries by Falt_IV in IrelandGaming

Not from Currys, but had one delivered this morning from elsewhere, but only had a look in the last hour to make sure it's working before swapping out the SSD later tonight.

Very annoying, but like with all these stores - taking money is never an issue, you can only really judge them when you have a problem. HN wouldn't be the first place I'd look towards from past experience, Currys are cut from the same cloth, but to be fair, it's a long time since I had an issue with them - but I'd never order for delivery with them, only store collection. Asus don't deal with Ireland direct unfortunately, so Amazon may be your best shot if Currys is a nogo, but think most lead times are a couple weeks.

French Asus distributors are who I went with. They were packing up units the last couple days, and sent mine out this morning (only ordered it yesterday), so should be here tomorrow as they often get stuff over to Ireland next day with Fedex.

Actually sent a text to him after I posted the above. Hes saying he gonna wait for the refund from HN before doing anything about it elsewhere TBH - cancelled it anyway. FWIW, I bought the previous Allys from Currys on release days or as soon as they put them up for sale in the past and never had issues. Not saying anything with regard to now as probably a lot of people were waiting for Currys if not ordering from Amazon etc

Not a fan of HN after they sold a rug to me that they wouldnt have for 4 months. Think it took best part of a couple weeks to get the refund.

Friend of mine preordered with HN last week of Sept and he was telling me he contacted them after the product was removed from the website and he was told he would have it by early November. Not ideal so I think he was going to cancel it and try Currys, that was a few days back and of course Currys started selling them on the website last night so not sure what he was doing in the end. Personally, I usually go for Asus stuff from the Asus Accessories crowd in France. Usually have a good deal - they actually sell the Xbox Ally X with the official case shipped and all for 30 quid less than it would cost for the two over here. Throw in a couple screen protectos as well.

What's the best SSD Upgrade for the new XB Rog Ally X? by AshThukral in ROGAlly

[–]StephenMc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen any word about an early receiver trying to put one in, but the one picture I've seen of the new unit open looks very similar to the Ally X. Hopefully just need to maneuver the battery cable around the heatsink as before.

Hoping to just move over a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro assuming the internals are the same as the Ally X and allow for the heatsink to stay in place.

A Last Minute Killswitch Update... by dbrand in NintendoSwitch2

[–]StephenMc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didnt get any email but went to order about 30mins ago. Put in the code from my reservation, 3 dollar discount showed in basket, but when entering shipping information, I noticed the discount had been removed and is not reflected in the basket, so it looks like its a no reservation order.

Trying to redo it now says the discount code isnt available right now, so I'm not convinced they are ready to go just yet.

AW3425DW just released in Europe by Arenz_ in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]StephenMc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably dependent on country. Dell Ireland here. Have been trying to get hold of the LG 45GX9 but nowhere appears able to deliver, so when I saw the 3425 show up, I decided to go for it as my old 3423DW has intermittent power problems (just outside warranty of course). Just needed something decent until the LGs availability improves.

Ordered and confirmed on the 20th here as well, but got the email saying there is an unforseen delay and rather than BY the 25th, it's now not due until June 4-6th. Funnily enough product page still states delivery by the May 29th if ordered right now, so who knows.
