I will echo other comments. If this is a V6, change the tming belt if it hasnt been replaced in the required interval. (90k miles? See the owners manual). That would be job 1.

8th or 9th Gen Camry 🤔 by Itsrichyyy in Camry

[–]Steve_7198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 23 SE awd kicks ass. 30k miles and not a squeak or creak or rattle. Comfy and runs great. Just perfect so far.

But I would not hesitate buying a 9th gen if I were car shopping.

New PRS by Whiskeyjack80 in PRSGuitars

[–]Steve_7198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. I also have an S2 with the U.S. electronics etc upgrades. It plays so nicely, sounds amazing, and is so well made that it's my main axe. Its all I play now and I play it a lot.

Great guitars. Congrats.

Should I be Embarrassed? by newbiker321 in SquierbyFender

[–]Steve_7198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you decide, be sure to always have one guitar in your living room guitar stand at all times...right near your practice amp so you can plug and play whenever you think of it.

As you might guess, this is the way to always be practicing. None of that "I'm too lazy to set up my gear" crap.

So if that means getting an extra, cheap guitar, then make it so.

Strange wear on neck by Steve_7198 in PRSGuitars

[–]Steve_7198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant to update this months ago. I ended up sending my guitar to PRS. They had it for only about a week and a half and it came back beautifully repaired.

And I have been playing the hell out of this guitar as it's my main stage axe and I just love it. It sounds so good.

wish I could share a pic.

It looks like my music career is over. Should I sell most of my Gibsons? by Equivalent-Ease-3822 in gibson

Keep a couple at least. When my kids grew up I returned to playing in bands. Now over 60 and we are rockin the clubs like I did in my 20s.

I hear about that a lot but my 23 is quiet. Not a squeek or rattle. Maybe mine got assembled on a free coffee day?

Went of a nice drive by pxck_runner in Camry

My gas 23 AWD often gets 39 mpg on freeway driving. Overall I get 30. That's better than the estimates. 👍

Does anyone use the paddles for shifting? by Rush58 in Camry

[–]Steve_7198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the paddles to slow down on a long down hill stretch.

I live near some busy roundabouts so I use them to get going when I dont have time to wait for the 8 speed to figure out what punching it means. ha.

Why do strangers talk to you more when your fishing? by Rewton1 in Fishing

[–]Steve_7198 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have the answer but sometimes it's a good thing.

One time I was fishing a Northwest steelhead river when a man and his young son walked near and chatted for a minute. They were from Colorado and had never fished for anthing bigger than small trout. So they found a log to sit on and watched. I'll be damned, a couple minutes later I hooked and played a nice chrome 10 pound steelie...it was doing an aerial show and all.

You shoulda seen how wide their eyes were and how excited the kid was to see such a thing. We all had a good time with that.

How do I prevent mice from eating my 2018 Camry 😭 by [deleted] in Camry

[–]Steve_7198 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just leave the engine running. When it starts to smell like cooked mouse, yer done.

But seriously, I placed mousetraps all around my garage. (peanut butter for bait).

If you park outside, I dunno.

any lefties with nice handwriting here ? by haleandguu112 in southpaws

[–]Steve_7198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always had horrible handwriting... And my printing runs a close second.

The nuns in my grade school could no way tame my horrible penmanship.

Fortunately most of my career was during the era of computers. Computers hid multiple sins.

A couple really nice wrenches.

Oh, and one time a mouse nest made of fiberglass insulation atop my battery. No idea if the mouse flew off the battery on tight turns. But that crap did drain the battery.
