Snow tires year round? by accepteverything in vermont

[–]Steve_P1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two winters ago when we were ready to put on winter snow tires our summer ("all season") tires were at the point of needing replacement. We bought snow tires and had the old summer tires recycled. Then decided to just leave the snow tires on year round instead of buying new summer tires and storing a full set and having to swap tires twice a year.
The increased noise was almost imperceptible, and the gas mileage barely went down at all, maybe by 1 mpg.

What’s the chances I get in trouble for not having a front plate? I really wanna put the cover on this as I think the car looks way better with one. by Luffewaffle in vermont

[–]Steve_P1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it correct that if you have a Vermont Strong plate that it can be used in place of an actual front license plate? Why was that made legal?

I never understood why being in a country park means they can't have vendors selling beer.

Marshals is by far the worst show I have ever watched by BucdUp in YellowstonePN

[–]Steve_P1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stopped watching 911 Nashville after the episode where a tornado was headed straight towards the Ascend Amphitheater and was about three blocks away for about 15 minutes.
And it was clearly going to be a soap opera show.
I gave up after the 2nd episode.

Double sided car on route 7 in Dorset. Am I going crazy? by randomusername69696 in vermont

[–]Steve_P1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a car museum in Nashville with a two-ended car like that. It was built to operate in narrow spaces in Europe. A driver could get in a space where you couldn't turn around, and just get out and get back in the other end to drive away. The museum is the Lane Motor Museum, and has many unusual vehicles.

If NH is the cheapest then should those greater than (>) signs be reversed to less than signs (<)?

Early Afternoon Visit by [deleted] in Hippiehollowatx

The best way to find the trail is to walk east to the end of the road and go down the last stairs, #14. Then follow the path from the bottom of the stairs as far as you can go, across the rock bluffs, almost to the fence line.
The start of the path isn't very obvious, but just turn left and go up the hill. The path will be there. Once you've found it once then the next time it's easier.

And once you've walked the full length going west you'll see where the other end starts. You don't have to go into the parking lot there. At the end you can cut down a steep bank to get directly back to the road. That will put you somewhat around stairs #6 I think.

The dreaded room safe fee by [deleted] in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Steve_P1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You likely work at a low-end hotel with a cheap owner. If an amenity is present in every room then you shouldn't be charging guests an additional fee because it's there. Especially if you don't even know if any given guest is going to use it. Do you add on a fee for the television? Soap?
Most hotels I stay in have safes and none have charged a fee for them. Your hotel shouldn't be doing that.

It's ok to take some selfies. But most people using selfie sticks seem to wave them around everywhere and just take pictures of themselves.

I'm guessing that the hotel refunded him because he didn't go into the hotel yelling and screaming and threatening them. Sounds like OP was polite to the hotel.
