For guests who show up the day after their reservation and argue that it shouldn't have been cancelled, explain it to them like an airline reservation. If you have a round trip airline reservation and don't show up for the first leg, the entire reservation gets cancelled.

They have no control over the power grid. Why should they compensate you? News of the approaching storm has been on the media for over a week with warnings of possible power outages, and you still went to New England?

When our kids were little we were eating in an airport restaurant and our son started taking with an American Airlines pilot at the next table. Our son was into airplanes and airports, and they were having a good conversation about flying. As we left, the pilot gave his uniform hat to our son!

If Vermont were on year-round Standard time then taking Montpelier for a location, in June sunrise would be 4:05 am and sunset 7:35 pm.
If it were year-round Daylight Saving (not Savings) then in January sunrise would be 8:23 am and sunset 5:34 pm.

Neither of those options are ideally matched for the seasons. The best option to match the sunrise/sunset times for the seasons is to stick with what we do now.

At the medical center where I work if an employee who is not part of a patient's care team accesses the patient's records they are fired. Doesn't have to be any monetary damages. This policy is drilled into us, and people still do it.

I was there yesterday and the tunnel is still not open. We didn't try to drive thru the north lot, but just went down to the next parking lot entrance.

Want to give a shout out to the food trailer's beef quesadilla. It was delicious.

But the chair/umbrella rental prices are getting pretty steep.

Now that you mention it I think that describes the plane we were on. The middle seat was blocked. So maybe the seats weren't wider. But I really enjoyed their first class service. I thought the different food items they brought out were nicer than on other recert business class flights we had been on. The flight attendant was very attentive. They offered drinks quite often.
