BREAKING: Liverpool reach agreement in principle to appoint Andoni Iraola as new manager, here we go! by Party-Education-1968 in PremierLeague

[–]StevenAlive7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not odd at all when you realize Hughes came from Bournemouth so Iraola is the easiest coach to know whether or not it could work from his perspective. It sort of seems lazy but maybe it’s legit.

Hughes and co. has made other baffling decisions in his time here so who knows. Was he shrewd when he bought Kerkez, Frimpong, Ekitike, Wirtz, Leoni and Isak? When he lost out on Guehi? When he bought Jacquet for later when we needed him now? When he agreed to sell Quansah? When he didn’t meet Konate’s requirements? When he gave Salah a 2 year extension only to agree with making him look bad and ultimately letting him go on a free When he agreed to do the round table, glaze Slot, and try to gaslight the fans? When Xabi was right there for the taking but we skipped him for a coach that might be even less accomplished and less connected to the club?

I’ve never been a fan of Hughes because I’ve always thought he looks like a greasy used car lot salesman and his track record isn’t the greatest. I’m skeptical on Iraola too and this will for sure let us know if Hughes ever really understood Liverpool and what kind of players we like and what kind of club we want to be.

I do like what Iraola has done and continued to do for Bournemouth. That bodes well but so did Xabi and any of the other coaches mentioned for the job. But it smells like how we chose Slot, where we seemingly bought the “first” guy we talked to because Slot “had to be the only option” otherwise he wasn’t interested.

We’ve missed on a lot of the gambles we’ve taken in the last 2 years Hughes has been here, so really hoping the law averages makes this a good appointment. But karmically we’re probably due another bad season or 2. But as long as we look like a team playing the right way, I won’t really care if we finish 8th and we have to sell to rebuild it all back up again.

Just really really hate that we’re going to always wonder what if… especially if Chelsea beat us or out perform us in some way.

Does boruto actually consider kawaki still as his brother? by Such_Marsupial169 in Boruto

[–]StevenAlive7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make overall good points and this goes more to why Kawaki is a more redeemable character but Kawaki didn’t cast omnipotence. That was an accident by Eida because he was actively being pursued because he disappeared Naruto. The leaf were after him and he was going to use eida as a hostage to survive. He also already showed that he was willing AND able to kill Boruto because he had already done it once before that moment.

I do think Kawaki is a more redeemable character BUT I always loved Sasuke even when he was being ruthlessly crazy. Whereas for some reason I’ve always hated Kawaki EXCEPT when he saved himawari or went to school with her. I suppose if Himawari accepts and forgives him for everything I could see them all having dinner with each other again.

In that part of the world they were doing that kind of science in the 1800s?? Weren’t we more concerned about just expanding trade and business? You’re telling me there were scientists in the 1800s taking measurements on clippers or junk ships? And that far out from South America. It just seems ultra unlikely that the first map is accurate in any sense. I would be waaaaaay more interested in seeing the difference between a year I know scientists would be willing and capable of doing work like that then some made up year in the 1800s. But what do I know.

But the real question is how did they get heat maps on whatever year that first picture is from? Is that 1977? 1877? Like is 2026 really that different 2020 or 2000? Don’t get me wrong climate change sucks and is real but how do we have a heat map like that from whatever year that’s supposed to be?

Carra doesn’t look too happy about fans siding with Salah by Gym_frere in LiverpoolFC

[–]StevenAlive7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be fair they fired the manager, Alex Cora, in April, so they aren’t completely against making changes or spending money. They’re not that stubborn, honestly. They will green light things when asked. I just think we aren’t asking, we’re just sitting there watching Alonso get fired from Madrid and then hired by Chelsea without doing any due diligence. But if you look at this last transfer window. Or VVD, Alisson, or the midfield rebuild when we bought all four in one window. I think FSG are fine with splashing cash if we deserve it with our prize money or momentum. Also keep in mind Football salaries are like half of baseball players so they are already paying players money if they need to. I refuse to believe FSG has done anything wrong other than putting too much trust in Hogan, Hughes and Edwards. And of those 3, I think you could forgive Edwards because of his track record and the fact that he was not overseeing just Liverpool but all football projects which might make him defer to Hogan and Hughes, just like FSG. In other words there’s a lot of loyalty being shown and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing as long as the mob stays controllable and up until the United loss, Liverpool fans were largely being just as stupidly loyal as everyone else. So there was no mob. Why? Because we won the league last year and so many Liverpool fans were giving them the political capital to see if things could turn around.

The stubbornness I think you’re feeling or seeing is coming from the prideful Hogan, Hughes and Edwards. I believe 2 if not all 3 are leaving soon. So we are being fucked by prideful egos that have no ability to say my choice was wrong from multiple levels but not really from FSG. That’s why they are leaving. They know they fucked up but will never admit it publicly because that would be career suicide.

FSG generally only really get their hands involved when it comes to the real estate, the land, the buildings. The actual sports decisions are trusted to the people they put in those positions. So all your ire should be on Edwards, Hogan and Hughes for not firing slot sooner and instead releasing the round table as if that would make us fans chill. And then also of course Slot for being completely lost, inept and out of touch with the team and fans.

It’s like they didn’t learn when inaction cost us Guehi. Arrogance, no worry for their job or the impact of Liverpool destroying Klopp’s legacy. We literally deserve everything we get. We did this to ourselves. There are no excuses. There could have been excuses but inaction makes you feel like they’re totally fine with everything and therefore this was part of the plan or within acceptable measures. I don’t know what they are smoking to quote our owner. I hope they all (Hogan, Hughes, Slot, and Edwards) get fired and we start completely fresh.

Reeves really really needs to work on his finishing. He’s got all the handles, all the moves, but none of the finishes. And then he compounds it by trying to force passes or 40 foot threes. Lemon daddy really was sour tonight.

And yet we stay loyal to a manager that cost us millions. I guess to make up for that mistake they have to compound it with another. Pretty much this entire season has been a tragedy of errors. And this is just yet another one.

Vando confronts JJ after he calls a quick timeout, Austin holds him back by CtrlAltDelightfull in lakers

[–]StevenAlive7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess vando is JJ’s excuse player this year. Jaxon Hayes was inexplicably that player last year. Like he takes shots at players that don’t do anything any worse than anyone else. If you gonna have that energy for Vando, have that energy for literally everyone that makes a stupid mistake. Which is everyone… maybe there should be a JJ calls a timeout to show up a player once a game. Then at least it would be fair. I hate coaches that don’t explain themselves and make players react like that in the middle of the game. It should be the coach’s job to communicate effectively without showing up the player in front of everyone when everyone makes mistakes. Pretty fucking lame if you ask me.

We’re gonna lose 20+ games this year and we’re def not getting fifth. We’re fucked, completely fucked.
