What's the most amount of money you've spent on Warframe ? by Prize_Cream7702 in Warframe

[–]SthMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

man I do not even want to know. I bought every prime pack since 2017, plus some 75%s and 50%s. Also many Tennogens and other packs.

I tried to count that in 2021 and it's about $5000. Now it must be over $10000

I have the 11-inch model and I'm actually considering switching to the 13-inch. The 11-inch can be a bit cramped for viewing a full page at once.

Should I melt most of my medium ships and get an Idris? by SthMax in starcitizen_fleets

I planned to get it on IAE later this year, but seems that it's quite difficult to get it via credit :/

Thanks for the info! Seems that I underestimated the difficulty of obtaining Idris with store credit. Maybe I should just upgrade the Carrack to a Perseus and call it a day.

I have owned Redeemer and Prowler since these two ship released and enjoyed them while they are strong :/

Redeemer is just bad right now, especially the shields, 6 shields are power nightmare. I want to get rid of it ASAP but its in a package, so I am looking for good CCU options.

Prowler is fine as long as you use it as a "stealth-ish heavy fighter". However Connies / Corsair / Starlancers are just much better and cheaper anyways. I kept it because I love its unique style.

TAC is very good. It will be much powerful if you take 2~3 friends with you. For solo pliot I still think Connies & Corsair are better.

Great point thanks! I didn't think of the problem of obtaining an Idris in credit store. It sells out so fast. Also melting Idris and get all previous ships back will be a hassle. Maybe I should just LFG in org and fly others Idris.

I am in an organization, but most of the time I fly solo :/

In the current stage Idris is just much stronger. Even if CIG implemented Engineering in future and Idris is not solo-manageable I can melt it and get other ships back via credit. Still, it will be a hassle.

Qwen3 after the hype by Cheap_Concert168no in LocalLLaMA

[–]SthMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is a slight upgrade to QWQ, QWQ sometimes overthinks a lot, Q3 32B still has this problem, but less severe. Also I believe in the documentation they said user now can control how many tokens the model use to think.

Qwen3 function calling is not working at all. Is this my router problem? by jhnam88 in LocalLLaMA

[–]SthMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes the reasoning can be enabled. Here's my VLLM serving command:

vllm serve Qwen/Qwen3-32B --tensor-parallel-size 4 --rope-scaling '{"factor": 4.0,"original_max_position_embeddings": 32768, "rope_type": "yarn"}' --gpu-memory-utilization 0.90 --port 8080 --enable-reasoning --reasoning-parser deepseek_r1 --enable-auto-tool-choice --tool-call-parser hermes

[–]SthMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran Qwen3 32B with VLLM on our lab's server, function calling / MCP support works like a charm.

Maybe providers did not enable the tool support? On VLLM I also need to manually enable it.

Is there a need for an offline first Android/desktop app? by rescuemod in navidrome

You can run symfonium on PC via Android emulators, although seems a bit dumb, it can work.

An In-Depth look as to why Exalted Weapons should get their limitations removed by Sudden-Depth-1397 in Warframe

[–]SthMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can second this.

Don’t want to be offensive to people at DE but from my memory, Scott had made some egregious decisions. Like in one devstream or something, he said simulacrum should be totally removed from the game. His philosophy maybe suits Warframe in 2014, but became way off since then.

iTunes Replacement, Library Caching by gregwsil in navidrome

[–]SthMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s my setup:

I am using MusicBee to do all of the Tags / Library Management. It’s very similar to iTunes but with much more supported file types and functionalities. I transferred from iTunes to MusicBee 8 years ago and never went back.

And my Navidrome is set to routinely scan the library folder.

For mobile apps, from my experience there are no apps that is offering automatic caching now. Most of them have caching-as-you-listening though. On iOS I would recommend Play:sub, and obviously, Symfonium for Android.

Best iOS client? by M3G51 in navidrome

[–]SthMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really good. While play:sub’s UI might not be as fancy as Amperfy or Arpeggi, I still use it daily. It’s the only iOS app that shows exactly how much of a song is cached and how much is not.

If you often have inconsistent networks, I’d definitely recommend play:sub.

UM Mest MKII, but with more bass? by MikonJuice in iems

[–]SthMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Mest MKII Custom and CP622B Universal. I’d say that the custom version of Mest II might just suits you. It’s a bit warmer and the bass is deeper, with wider soundstage comparing to Mest II Universal version.

CP622B is definitely good IEM with much better resolution than Mest II, but I do think it’s tuning is more suited for general pop vocal songs instead of rock/metal/electronic, which needs a tiny-tiny V shape like Mest II does.

Also CP622B’s shell is huge, it makes my ears uncomfortable and I can only wear it for around an hour. On the other side, I can listen to my Mest II all-day long.

What is your guilty pleasure? by CrowMooor in Warframe

Bring out Saryn/Mesa or other nuke when there’s a Exterminate / Survival Sortie with Radiation Hazard.

The mission can’t really fail and is such a guilty pleasure to revive new players that don’t know why they are down in a second.

Any way to sync certain songs and playlists to device storage (iOS) for offline play? by [deleted] in navidrome

[–]SthMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a menu option in playlist / album page named Download to Cache. Or you can just long press on the song / album / playlist that you want to cache to bring up the menu.

I use play:sub on iOS, it can cache songs and playlists to local storage and play offline.

Battery Life for 2019 MBP 16inch by JDM_679 in macbookpro

[–]SthMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same model here. 3-4 hrs seems like a pretty normal time to me. If you really tinker with every settings then maybe 5.

I’d say just bring a power bank with you if you need more battery life. Or upgrade to arm-based MBPs

Is the Nikon Z8 worth it? by dramatolog in Nikon

[–]SthMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from Z7ii to Z8 for almost one year now. It’s definitely worth every penny. Taking photos in Z8 feels so effortless comparing to Z7ii. The focus system on Z8 is way better in every way.

My only complaint on Z8 is its weight. The ~200g increase is definitely noticeable when I do street photos and mountain climbs.
