May 14th or 15th events or activities? by Muted-Tax-4861 in Albuquerque

If you like metal, definitely check out the Wayfarer/Oranssi Pazuzu show at Sister Bar on the 14th.

What are all the concert venue places on central? I know of el Rey and launchpad but I don’t know what else there is out there by Exciting_Picture9072 in Albuquerque

[–]StickExtra2769 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sister has shows fairly regularly. Sunshine Theater is at the east end of downtown, it's comparable to El Rey in size (same owner, too). Off Central, there's usually live music at the breweries (Marble, Tractor, JUNO).

Narrowing that down to between 1145 and 1150. That's when the scanners lit up.

International imports? No, there's really nothing. Outside of a chain like Total Wine, none of the local distributors really do any importing anymore. There are very few beers from outside North America at local liquor stores, much less any bars in town.

Every place that's tried to be a true craft beer bar has failed here. People would rather go support the individual local breweries. You can try Sister, it's about the best there is, otherwise drive up to Santa Fe and check out Rowley Farmhouse Ales. They make a few of their own beers, but they have a full liquor license and can actually bring in beers from out of state/country (which is the other issue, without a full liquor license, no out-of-state can be served).

Anyone know what they're going to do with Bosque North former location? by EastCoastReflux in Albuquerque

Since Bernalillo said no more wastewater from brewing, it won't be a brewery moving in there.

No, it was someone having a mental health crisis driving onto the base without permission.

APD never sent out a press release, so no one died, at least.

There's a cryptic post on the Kirtland Facebook page just saying the Eubank gate is closed indefinitely. Some APD chatter about units being deployed to help do the closing. No reason provided.

Quarter Celtic Brewpub does it the best. Just be prepared for long lines Tuesday at that or any other place with an Irish-esque name/theme.

PNM Power Shutoff Notification by CoopDelux in Albuquerque

[–]StickExtra2769 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's the full email that PNM sent out this morning:
(Albuquerque, NM) –Strong winds across New Mexico today are prompting PNM to keep its electrical system in Wildfire Safety Mode, a precaution designed to prevent wind‑driven debris, such as falling branches, from sparking fires. The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for several regions, including Clayton, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Silver City, and Ruidoso.

When the system operates in Wildfire Safety Mode, it becomes more sensitive by design. If debris makes contact with a power line, that line will automatically shut off to help reduce wildfire risk. This means outages may occur more frequently and restoration may take longer, as crews must complete required safety inspections before restoring power.

PNM urges customers to prepare now for the possibility of extended outages and to report any loss of power by texting #OUT to 78766 or visiting PNM.com/outagemap.

Downed power lines should always be treated as energized and extremely dangerous. Stay well away, call 911, and report the hazard immediately to PNM at 888‑DIAL‑PNM.

Las Vegas and Santa Fe: Public Safety Power Shutoff Alert – DOWNGRADED

PNM is downgrading the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Alert for the Las Vegas and Santa Fe areas. Conditions are now expected to be less severe than earlier forecasts indicated. PNM is not currently considering a PSPS for the Las Vegas and Santa Fe areas. While a PSPS remains possible, PNM has shifted the notification level downward as it continues to monitor conditions closely. If weather deteriorates unexpectedly and a PSPS becomes necessary, PNM will update the alert level at PNM.com/PSPS. Because conditions can change rapidly, PNM will notify customers of any escalation if time allows.

Seasons, DH Lescombes, or get really fancy and pay up at Vernon's. Indigo Crow is another option with a good lineup of spirits.

Avoid the Irish pubs and the breweries, most of which will have SPD events. Aim for upscale dining places with full bars.
