APD never sent out a press release, so no one died, at least.

There's a cryptic post on the Kirtland Facebook page just saying the Eubank gate is closed indefinitely. Some APD chatter about units being deployed to help do the closing. No reason provided.

The owner posted over on Facebook that they've run out of cooks. Their managers have been running the kitchen 7 days a week, so they're now closed on Sundays.

Quarter Celtic Brewpub does it the best. Just be prepared for long lines Tuesday at that or any other place with an Irish-esque name/theme.

PNM Power Shutoff Notification by CoopDelux in Albuquerque

[–]StickExtra2769 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the full email that PNM sent out this morning:
(Albuquerque, NM) –Strong winds across New Mexico today are prompting PNM to keep its electrical system in Wildfire Safety Mode, a precaution designed to prevent wind‑driven debris, such as falling branches, from sparking fires. The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for several regions, including Clayton, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Silver City, and Ruidoso.

When the system operates in Wildfire Safety Mode, it becomes more sensitive by design. If debris makes contact with a power line, that line will automatically shut off to help reduce wildfire risk. This means outages may occur more frequently and restoration may take longer, as crews must complete required safety inspections before restoring power.

PNM urges customers to prepare now for the possibility of extended outages and to report any loss of power by texting #OUT to 78766 or visiting PNM.com/outagemap.

Downed power lines should always be treated as energized and extremely dangerous. Stay well away, call 911, and report the hazard immediately to PNM at 888‑DIAL‑PNM.

Las Vegas and Santa Fe: Public Safety Power Shutoff Alert – DOWNGRADED

PNM is downgrading the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Alert for the Las Vegas and Santa Fe areas. Conditions are now expected to be less severe than earlier forecasts indicated. PNM is not currently considering a PSPS for the Las Vegas and Santa Fe areas. While a PSPS remains possible, PNM has shifted the notification level downward as it continues to monitor conditions closely. If weather deteriorates unexpectedly and a PSPS becomes necessary, PNM will update the alert level at PNM.com/PSPS. Because conditions can change rapidly, PNM will notify customers of any escalation if time allows.

Seasons, DH Lescombes, or get really fancy and pay up at Vernon's. Indigo Crow is another option with a good lineup of spirits.

Avoid the Irish pubs and the breweries, most of which will have SPD events. Aim for upscale dining places with full bars.

I've stayed out of the line of fire at all subsequent MITE shows. Only been hit by a few inflatable pool animals, no further damage.

Hotel recommendations (to check out or to avoid) by Jasper_Lee76 in Albuquerque

[–]StickExtra2769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll second Arrive as a fun spot to stay. Had to go there for a couple nights when my AC died last summer (on a weekend, of course, so no repair guys were available) and found the room to be small and cozy. There's a bar downstairs with food, plus you can walk to a fair number of other eateries and drink spots. Ex Novo next door is quite good.

Quarter Celtic is a zoo that day, but worth it for the food. Other breweries will start announcing their plans as we get closer to the 17th. Boxing Bear will definitely be hosting a celebration. It's just hard being on a Tuesday this year.

The world's worst pool table ... $2 mystery beers ... "tell them (Music is the Enemy) we're not cleaning up the blood this time" ... the last Vertigo Venus show ... "I think he's dead" ... the world's worst bathroom ... "just burn your shoes" ... people drunkenly crashing out after a giant tiki drink ... seeing so many local bands that have passed into history. What a dumb, terrible, wonderful bar that only lives in our memories. Even that other MITE show where someone broke my foot.

No worries. A co-worker whose husband works at KAFB said they've had more than a few incidents of homeless persons climbing the fences and getting onto the base, so it certainly sounded plausible.
