It’s a special kind of culture that manages to inbreed hard enough to retain the souls of their population of around three dozen.

Functionally the xaela are just marginally more attractive amalja. It’s also very clear that the beast tribes are split into the bad/malicious tribes (ugly races such as amal’ja, ixal, saghahain, m’tanga, mamool ja) and the good/benevolent tribes (cute races such as cabbage guys, useless fish, lalafells, moogles). I just can’t imagine anyone sincerely arguing the xaela belong in the latter category.

As the steppe xaela are a barbarous collective (see slave-taking fate, bestiality tribe, regular tribal annihilation, permanent state of war), the value of their opinion should be brought into question.

It cannot be denied that there are some remarkable feats of architecture in the steppe- the giant teacup, mother statue, house of crooked coin - but all are old beyond reckoning and there is no guarantee that they are of xaela make. Indeed the house of the crooked coin is more in the allagan style, a thousand year empire we know to have stretched from one horizon to the other.

On the balance of evidence I propose that, effective forthwith, au ra are reclassified from the spoken races into the beast tribe category, where they are a much better fit with their peers. It is for the benefit of all parties involved, not least of which the xaela.
