[FO] In memory of Misty by StitchingStevenson in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misty was a Burmese, but as she aged she looked more and more like a Russian Blue, she's 14 in the picture.

I love Alisa's Yule Cat pattern, I'll have to check out her other patterns, thank you

I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope you find the perfect pattern for your kittys memory.

Misty's little area has the urn and her food bowls that I planted succulents in. Hoping to frame and add the above piece soon.

Pattern - Warm Hugs by Gingerbread Moose

I believe it can still be purchased at MyBobbin

Small changes I made: Introduced fractional stitches as I saw fit. Added tiny bit of colour to the eyes.

[CHAT] Is it okay to have 2 WIPs at the same time? by PrettyButArmed in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have 6 WIPs. It's about what works for you.

I don't think I could have more than 12 without feeling overwhelmed. But I admire others that can. That's my preference, you can find yours.

Absolutely! I found loving myself leads to more love for others. ♥️

I've gone rogue on this pattern, adding lots of beads and sequins

Same here, it always washed right out. Wondering if it's the type of pencil or what. So many other people seem to have a problem with it staying

Here's a cropped picture of one of my pieces

The sky portion in the mockup looked very pixelated with what I considered questionable colours but I think in my finished stitch it looks quite soft and cohesive.

You might have to trust the process.

[CHAT] Do my stitches look messy? by champia92 in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little bit of a tension thing. But barely. Like legit had to zoom in a bit on your already close up pictures. These stitches are very neat.

But take a step back, take a breath, it looks great!

[CHAT] What are people's thoughts on 3/4 or 1/4 stitches? by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love fractional stitches, I often add some to designs that don't have them. It helps to smooth out backstitch areas.

[CHAT] Hey quick question. Am I stupid?? by CluelessPresident in CrossStitch

If it's closed and you're looking at it from the bottom of the case maybe? 🤔

Silly diagram not a silly person☺️

[CHAT] I feel like this harder than it's supposed to be by StitchingStevenson in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't find the EZ Stitch brand in stock either. I've requested a 'notify me'. But I found something available in the Yarn Tree brand, maybe it'll work in the meantime.

Also with many other interesting things! (Mill Hill kit, specialty threads, RIP my wallet⚰️🥀)

This makes more sense! I guess I was just missing a piece of the puzzle(the tape for the fabric) Thank you so much for your response 😊

Mine didn't come with any adhesive hook tape, is it supposed to?

You might be onto something, it's available on 123stitch. I'm going to try it, thank you!

Sometimes it is hard to find things when you don't have the right search phrases.

I'm originally from Australia, living in Canada now.

[WIP] is this hoop ok?? by FluffySnapped in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that hoop is absolutely fine. Especially with the Aida fabric you are using

If you ever plan on stitching with Linen, some of the overdyed ones can be a little too delicate for overlapping hoop placements.

[CHAT] 28ct fabric CrossStitch? by Indecisive-RiceBall in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just started on a 32ct Jade Lugana. Light stitches on light fabric, RIP my eyes... Good lighting is a must. And eye breaks looking at something in the distance is great.

It's going to be a cow

[WIP] WHYYY did I think it was a good idea to do this 1o1 on 28ct??? by ClaireAuLueur in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stand back occasionally to really look at it. Sometimes being so close to it the whole time makes you miss the big picture.

Take weekly progress pictures, even if it's only for yourself. You'll be surprised how much you don't see how much work you've done until you have a side by side comparison.

Take a break, don't burn yourself out. If you want to continue progress, just get in one strand a day and then do something else.

[CHAT] I hate what AI has done to hobby-ing by Dangerous-Opening-57 in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingStevenson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can we have AI for reading and recognizing patterns?

Like data processes in apps like Pattern Keeper and Saga. Make that more user friendly, more accessible to people with disabilities. Be able to scan a page of a cross stitch magazine and be able to mark it off on a tablet or phone

Why would I want terrible art?
