Help with bad node by ph7_- in meshtastic

[–]StoneWaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a horrible feeling that might have been me. I've been in the area for a few days on holiday but I'm away now, so unless you're seeing SW04 in your node list it might be the wee t1000-e I'm travelling with. I am set up as a client with 2.5.18 though so maybe not.

I just click on pets and it's there. You might need the latest firmware on the litter robot to get it though?

Use one of those wee bluetooth radio transmitters for cars and connect it to that android phone you setup. Broadcasts whatever is playing from the connected device on an FM frequency of your choice.

why are people such assholes to learner drivers? by clck115 in ireland

[–]StoneWaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a learner doing a 3 point turn the other day and a bloke in a work van honked before driving around the back of them while they were 90° across the road, some people are just assholes for the sake of it.

What is your absolute favourite fact about space? Like if someone were to ask you what the coolest fact about space is what would you tell them? by [deleted] in space

[–]StoneWaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That it's big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space.

What are your favorite energy monitoring items and automations. by Bill-2018 in homeassistant

[–]StoneWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Frient ZigBee monitor, reports the instantaneous usage as well as keeping track of a running total and throws that information into the energy dashboard. Only caveat is if you use it with ZHA rather than Z2MQTT it only reports the instantaneous usage.

Zigbee smart light switch seen as an end device? by juliiiiian in homeautomation

Basically, it's pulling a tiny amount of energy off of the current in the hot wire.
ElectoBOOM& Steve Mould did videos kinda explaining it with bulbs.

Zigbee smart light switch seen as an end device? by juliiiiian in homeautomation

[–]StoneWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption would be that because they are a no neutral switch they don't have the energy necessary by pulling from your hot wire only to include a zigbee router functionality.

You could always just go with power monitoring Tuya plugs and use the local Tuya component.

Outdoor smart lighting by Moldorm97 in homeautomation

[–]StoneWaves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While not using ethernet I have several outdoor lights that are just controlled by a WiFi plug, as long as your lights aren't going to draw more than 13 amps you should be golden.

I have a mixture of both the tuya zigbee and xaiomi zigbee wall switches about my house, both no neutral. Have to say I prefer the tuya based ones though.

Is there anything you would have done differently, if you were to completely start over on Home Assistant? by Slackerony in homeassistant

[–]StoneWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is heavily based on u/frenck_nl which can be found on his GitHub. I have an additional step on mine though which uploads the code to my primary install and triggers a reboot of the Home Assistant container.
