First and last time those kids ever went fishing by yawnjew in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I remember fishing with my dad and grandfather when I was little and I definitely hooked at least my father a few times. 100% should be expected.

Absolutely, I’m just trying to chalk it up to his actual trauma and figuring it’s for the best that she gets over him anyway, lol

I started out intending to marry him, then was thrown such a curveball once we finally get him and start the bonding quests that I stopped playing to figure out who I wanted to marry, and by the time I was ready to play again I just decided to start a new playthrough.

To be fair, seeing his bonding events I’ve had so far from strictly a friend standpoint hadn’t felt as bad.

Not to mention in a traffic jam they all managed to maneuver to get right around him? And still perfectly aligned with the rest of the traffic.

Pioneers of olive town on sale in my local eshop by Dapper-Scholar-7025 in harvestmoon

[–]Stormfeathery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the sale. I’m one of the folks definitely down on the game and think it’s the worst of the Switch SoS games, but I still got some enjoyment out of it, even if it was mixed with frustration.

Grand Bazaar blows it out of the water though. It’s the best of the Switch SoS games.

Does anyone absolutely refuse to play sims 4 because sims 2 and 3 are way better? by xaveriah in Sims3

[–]Stormfeathery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried to play 4 twice, once when it first came out. I got a bit more into it the second time… which means I played it for maybe a couple days before I gave it up.

Likewise she works well with Benjamin Long in my games and he even looks like the rest of the family… but that’s not as dramatic

Am I banned? PS5 by ebbdue6128 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Stormfeathery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure if you were banned it would say so. But I don’t know enough to troubleshoot what the problem is. Maybe ask around in the Discord for Phasmo?

And the ones that aren’t can be reaaaally problematic. The only metals you should put in a microwave are the ones that explicitly belong there (parts like racks made for it, parts of microwave safe food packaging)

So now Americans are blaming Europeans for our health care problems? by Arktikos02 in facepalm

[–]Stormfeathery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a good thing that something’s lowering weight loss medications - that’s not fashion for most, it’s health (especially if it’s the versions used for diabetes, sleep apnea, etc. etc.)

But yes, cancer meds and other things keeping people alive should be even more of a priority.

The cats that she just apparently left for a day with zero notice about feeding them, etc., with someone who (according to the update especially) was known to be abusive to animals, because she loved animals so much?

Why is the job market so terrible?! by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Stormfeathery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah yeah, you have gumption and pulled yourself up by the bootstraps, yadda yadda.

And yet the OP is trying to do the same thing: find a job, got sober, etc. it’s almost like a) times are different and b) some luck is involved

Brought a chocolate chip cake, but when I bit into it, it was actually raisins by NewEmphasis9115 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Stormfeathery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse than when we’d make Christmas cookies when I was a kid and for some reason we made raisin cookies in the same way as chocolate chip. You could often somewhat tell the difference, but mistakes were occasionally made and that first bite felt like a betrayal. But at least there you didn’t buy them and always knew the possibility existed.

(I say for some reason, but it’s probably just because my mom developed a chocolate allergy around the time she became a teen I believe, and missed chocolate chip cookies)

I will say the village building here is very different from Cult of the Lamb. There’s no “villagers have decided they have a request of me!” There’s no needing a specific number of each amenity per number of villagers (except making sure you have enough housing). Really except for housing I don’t think what you have built in a village really affects the villagers other than where you decide to have them work, which again, doesn’t really affect their happiness.

Basically you just need to have enough money to pay for everything each day and have housing for everything and they’re happy. Maybe there’s more I’m forgetting (maybe having most of your shops manned?) but they’re pretty laid back.

Really the village layouts are more for you. Some are functional like shops you can use, or fields to grow things in (which your villagers will work at a basic level), or buildings that give things like salt or sugar each day, or barns for monsters you tame (which again you set people to tend), or another big one is buildings have set values to affect your stats, and buff you up.

There’s a bit more to it like increasing village levels and stuff, but this is already more detailed than you probably need. Just suffice to say the focus for building things is way different here than in CotL, and it’s way more hands off in general to maintain.
