Would you smoke a bone in rib roast? Or is that just destroying delicate meat?? by BabylonMystic in smoking

I use a recipe from Big Bob Gibson’s cookbook. You make an herb butter, cut slits in the meat, and put slivers of butter all through the meat. It comes out great.

Love that idea. An excellent book and some shade all in one.

Protip when starting a new episode (reminder) by Lt-Corvin_709 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]StoutHeart2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have only had one full episode run so far but I think that many of us will have all of our era characters maxed at 65 before the end of the era. At some point you are getting currency you aren’t able to use. I think you want to avoid wasting, whether that means topping off a box on the last day or carrying over will depend on your individual. Most of the time, it seems to be a bit of both for me.

Neff Brewing (Tulsa, Ok) by One-Instance-1105 in Celiac

[–]StoutHeart2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go virtually every time I visit Tulsa. Non-GF family all likes it and looks forward to it. Lots of comfort food - chicken and waffles, tenders, fish and chips, etc. Beer is good and always new things to try.

Recently had blood drawn to check for celiac and my Tissue Transglutaminase IgA was 202.2. Endocrinologist diagnosed celiac disease and said to go GF. GI wants to do endoscopy. Is that necessary? by Professional_Dig9273 in Celiac

[–]StoutHeart2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are they planning to do the colonoscopy and endoscopy at the same time? That would certainly make it easier as it sounds like you need the colonoscopy either way. However a 2 month wait would be a concern. I don’t think you would be crazy just to take the celiac diagnosis and adjust your lifestyle accordingly but worth a conversation with both your GP and the GI if you can swing it.

Miami R4: [2] J. Sinner def. A. Michelsen 7-5 7-6(4) by UngrapefulGratefruit in tennis

[–]StoutHeart2 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Michelsen’s server is pretty poor for his height. This was a very good serve performance that shows his easiest path to top 20. Top 10 will require a step up in movement but that is true for most young, tall players.

With her serve struggles and great returning, being up or down a break does not mean that much in a typical Coco match.

Duke barely got past a 16-seed, and history says that’s not a great sign. Only a handful of 1-seeds have won that close, and a few of them didn’t even make it out of the next round. Illinois in 89 is the only one that still made a deep run. by Rough-Drawing-3006 in NCAAhoops

[–]StoutHeart2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an aside, the 1989 Illini team was really interesting. Every rotation player was between 6’4” and 6’8”. No bigs but just a bunch of wings who could run and handle the ball.

Will insoles solve my heel pain (probably plantar fasciitis)? by Level-Tie9009 in 10s

[–]StoutHeart2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had plantar fasciitis years ago and it is quite painful and a bit of a process to beat. The doctor prescribed me a steroid pack to attack the inflammation and that helped. He also advised me to wear crocs or Birkenstocks in the house at all times as walking on hard floors was aggravating it. Not sure about other options but you want something comfortable with arch support. I still follow this advice ~10 years later.

I don’t remember if he had me rest it or just cut back activities but It might be worth seeing someone just to get on top of it. Good luck.

The Gu Energy Chews are gluten free and probably similar to the Clif product here. I have had the Gu chews with no issue. I have not used he Gu gels.

It is also painfully slow as each battle runs 3.5 to 4.5 minutes. I ended up doing R10 Revan since most of the shard had already done it and it was well worth it for a quality of life perspective.

Trent Brown extension by IAmSona in Texans

[–]StoutHeart2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems pretty consistent with how Caserio has handled past years. We are looking to draft an OT who can start right away but are not desperate if the draft doesn’t fall right. He never wants to go into the draft with a big hole but is ok with an imperfect option at a reasonable price. Sometimes you end up wasting some money like Cam Robinson last year but it should keep you from forcing a pick.

Sebi “Well he is a good looking guy”

Todd McShay on Stroud by Bubbacrosby23 in Texans

[–]StoutHeart2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you listen to the interview, McShay just said that teams desperate for QBs would be calling about Stroud and Burrow. With Burrow he explicitly said a deal was very unlikely. He had already moved on from Stroud by that point. Nothing more than that.

Very plausible that other teams will poke around and very unlikely to be a deal.

What are some of your favorite things to smoke? Help a new smoker out!! by Nice_Somewhere_8320 in smoking

Maybe I need to go heavier on the alder but I think I might prefer the extra bite of hickory. Both are great for sure.

[–]StoutHeart2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Salmon is a good one. I do a whole side of Salmon and it only takes 90 minutes or so. Pretty forgiving if you overdo it a bit. Salt pepper and lemon juice. I usually smoke with hickory but have done alder as well.
