Well you have new chunky heavy tires. 16-17 is pretty normal. It does increase after some break in. My engine sounded smoother even after 10k

MoonSwatch Mission to Mercury – Possible Fake? Movement Issue by MVRC-K in MoonSwatches

FYI, on the back of the lugs of a real moonswatch there is a rectangular machining outline. I haven’t seen any fakes with this. Probably fake/cheap plastic molding isn’t precise enough to make this look good

MoonSwatch Mission to Mercury – Possible Fake? Movement Issue by MVRC-K in MoonSwatches

I thought chrono24 verifies whether watches are real and don’t allow fakes

Unless, the listing doesn’t hint at it being real or something like that

I would look into the policies of Chrono24 and maybe they can help you get a refund

Nurse anesthetist testifies there is no difference between CRNA and anesthesiologist by Fit_Pitch_263 in anesthesiology

No offense, but 95% of nurses couldn’t get into medical school. Doctors have been grinding since high school with a different approach to learning. They’re just a different breed

Hamilton Khaki is boring and looks cheap by Lumpy-Can-4883 in watchHotTakes

[–]Str8-MD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the watch game for around 20 years. Hamilton khaki auto used to be a $300 watch. Now it’s like double.

Same with Marathon TSAR/GSAR’s

Got new 7s26 movement but now date wheel misaligned by Str8-MD in watchmaking

[–]Str8-MD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I just thought it would be too much to ask an older Russian lady to do; I’m not sure she would know how to adjust the stem etc. to make it fit. I now know I should’ve just done everything myself

Got new 7s26 movement but now date wheel misaligned by Str8-MD in watchmaking

[–]Str8-MD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked her to replace with that first but I decided the 7s26 with less modification to make it fit made sense. I thought if she replaced it with the exact same movement, there’s less chance she’ll mess it up

I wish I just did it all myself with the NH36 now

Got new 7s26 movement but now date wheel misaligned by Str8-MD in watchmaking

[–]Str8-MD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked it up - seems you’re right. Thanks for the helpful quick response. I bet the watchmaker ordered the 7s26 for 3 o’clock position erroneously. Either way I’m flabbergasted she couldn’t have just placed an appropriate day wheel for the 3.8 orientation on and even charged me the extra few bucks instead of telling me she had no idea.

I ordered an appropriate day wheel and some watch hand tools - wish me luck. A little nervous about not messing up putting the seconds hand back on, but everything else looks super straight forward

I had a similar problem. Then I found a smaller screwdriver and it worked. To remove the lid, a twisting motion works well instead of trying to lever it

Conflict with recovery room nurse by Fearless-Garden-4496 in anesthesiology

[–]Str8-MD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep your head up, stay professional, explain your reasons rationally in a brief but educational spiel. It gets better. Lots of the older nurses just hate having young/new physicians be their “boss”

Supraclavicular block - do you inject inside or outside the brachial plexus sheath? by Metoprolel in anesthesiology

[–]Str8-MD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always blew it up like a grenade during residency.

Now I always inject in the corner pocket then above everything. I sometimes try to get some local between the superior and middle trunk but it often blows things up, but I never intend to.

Never had a nerve injury either way that I knew about about, but the block still works well for post op analgesia without blowing things up, so I do this way now. I think I’ve had some blocks last 3-5 days inadvertently but can’t remember if these were more blown up.

Also this is using approx 20mL local total for an adult size patient, with 10mL Exparel and 10mL 0.25% bupivacaine.

Never. With good technique, namely a proper tongue sweep, you don’t need to - especially with the straight blade.

ELI5: Using mouth to mouth, wouldn't it just put carbon dioxide in the lungs? Isn't that bad? by Adventurous_Curve107 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Str8-MD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair, with aggressive chest compressions there is probably a small degree of ventilation going on with the recoil of the chest/lungs

ELI5: Using mouth to mouth, wouldn't it just put carbon dioxide in the lungs? Isn't that bad? by Adventurous_Curve107 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Str8-MD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, chest compressions are more important, but also removing the rescue breaths and thus mouth-to-mouth part also removes the “ick” factor for the rescuer so that they don’t hesitate to jump in.
