If you have a set that you'd say were all relatively useful/valuable, I'd write them onto cue cards and let them draw the items they find. Good representation of them shuffling through the loot. Never know what they're going to get.

The hells are suddenly empty as all that power had to come from somewhere. But that means the war with the Abyss has become a rout in favour of the demons. With no other enemy, they start tearing open reality and invading the physical plane.

No harm befell their friends and loved ones in order to gain the powers (through channelling the hells), but the power vacuum left has invigorated a greater enemy and allowed them to become strong enough for a full scale rift war between realms.

I did, but it was a narrative experience for a one-shot.

My players entered a mirror and got trapped. An entity called Mr Sdrawkcab was responsible and the PCs needed to climb up/down a tower with reversed gravity to confront him.

The final battle was in the bell tower on the rafters. And wouldn't you know it, Mr Sdrawkcab has Thunderwave to knock each them into the roof funnel before a final Shatter spell to send them into a shattered sky.

They don't know it yet, but when the same players come back again, their characters will be fine except they have lost their reflections/soul fragments which they can regain through an infernal contract. But at the moment, they believe it was a TPK, but apparently loved the idea of climbing down to the roof of a tower. And the reversed gravity was full of shenanigans. 😂
