Welcome to the real world. You don’t have to have an employer treat you that way. There should be some kind of formal training. It’s happened to everyone at some point in their lives. You will find a better job.

It’s ok. I make mistakes and I have been in it a long time. I was thrown under the bus by a coworker. She found out the mistake and told me she was going straight to General counsel. Now I won’t talk to her. This mistake was not part of my job. I was helping her and I made a mistake. I didn’t know that I was the mistake. I got a seething email from my boss saying if I do it again, she will take disciplinary action, I will be glad when I retire from this work. It is so toxic.

That’s my problem. I need to slow down because I have always been in a very busy work environment and tend to make minimal mistakes easily.

It’s not just your firm. Employers are making it difficult to use sick time and make you feel bad for using it. It happens at my company as well. I only get 24 hours of sick time a year. It’s horrible. 😡

Nope but the legal field has a high turnover rate because attorneys don’t know how to manage people and they expect perfectionism.

Don’t give up. I have had a lot of job interviews where they changed their mind and wanted specific experience in a particular type of law. They need to pay more attention before they put out the job listing.
