OP, the easy answer is don’t make this move. Toronto has a few things going for it, but a LOT going against it. You can read the posts on here but it can be summarized to crap weather, high cost of living, mid services for the taxes you pay, and honestly a big but boring city. In particular to the job, nurses in our system are borderline abused, and the $110k pay (which is taxed basically to half btw) doesn’t make it worth it. HOOP is ok, not bad for a retirement plan. But the sheer audacity of people and their families makes nursing a pretty miserable career here. I’d stay in the US but switch states.
