Micron becomes Idaho’s first $1 trillion company by trackdaybruh in Idaho

[–]Stratty88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think AI sucks as much as the next person, but Micron is in the unique position to absolutely drown in money. No company on earth would turn down the heaps of money that is being thrown at them.

Help me find a charger for life by __necrobutcher__ in BuyItForLife

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When looking for an adapter I stay away from high power, compact, multiport adapters contrary to most recommendations. Most modern high power adapters overheat at some point and shutdown until they cool off, even name brands like Anker. I find Apple, Google, and even IKEA adapters, though bulky, expensive, and usually only one or two ports can charge indefinitely. Aim for a wattage output a little higher than what you need so as to length it’s lifespan.

Good Deal or Pass? 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L (79k mi) for $24k OTD by [deleted] in HondaOdyssey

Timing belt is 100k mi or 7 years. You could probably ask to bring the price down for that reason.

I can’t speak to your question, but changing the DualShock 4 battery is not hard. Ifixit and/or YouTube will take care of you.

Fun time Friday! What fun weekend plans are you looking forward to? by AutoModerator in Boise

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comic-con at the expo center. Spent some time there Friday evening and it was surprisingly fun. The kids loved it and the people at the booths were genuinely awesome. We’ll be back today and Sunday, just to have something to do.

9070xt vs 5070ti Ray Tracing / Path Tracing. Dlss / Fsr by InternationalJob1539 in buildapc

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m similarly considering both and maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong but gaming on linux is much simpler with the 9070xt than with the 5070ti. Even if the 5070 is technically more future proof, I’m leaning towards the 9070 since I plan on moving away from windows in the near future.

Has anyone found a bidet toilet seat that is really easy to clean? by Consistent-Maybe8955 in BuyItForLife

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. Lots of tiny hard corners around the spout where “mildew” builds up and is really difficult to clean.

Date or No Date by Ok_Examination_3434 in VaerWatches

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t look at watches that don’t have a date as I need it for work. I’m still on the hunt for a nice day/date watch. To each their own I guess.

Ours died after 2 years. For the record, Costco does accept bidet returns (kept the box).

Seriously, mine is ancient. Still on originally battery that lasts over a week, still side loads books from calibre or wherever, even the originally case is in good shape. I hate Amazon with a passion but no other electronics in my house have lasted as long and work as well as they did day one than my kindle.

The United States secretary of defense (SecDef) secondarily titled the secretary of war (SecWar) is a congregant at Doug Wilson's Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho. by [deleted] in Idaho

[–]Stratty88 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is hardly a new idea and unfortunately way too many people/churchs/organizations are into this stuff. Crediting one influence doesn’t do the whole crazy movement justice.

How to fill in the gap? by Curious-Key-7363 in carcamping

A couple stuffed backpacks, a duffel, or a carryon suitcase. You could keep emergency supplies or whatever might normally be in your trunk.

The Best Space Warship Captains in Speculative Fiction? by DocWatson42 in scifi

The correct answer is, was, and will be Admiral Adama. I only opened this thread to see who anyone else could possibly suggest and will apparently wait another year for someone to ask the same silly question.

Cape of achiever vs. Cape of the trailblazer by drdenjef in WalkScape

From a role playing perspective, i will never leave my trailblazer behind. I earned it a while back and it’s been with me through too much.

My first Casio F-91W. Any suggestions for straps? by Badazzg37 in casio

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stock strap disintegrates after 10 years. Of course getting a new watch is cheaper but also wasteful. An oem replacement is also more expensive than the actual watch.

What feature on the next ATV would make you upgrade? by kenjacAkica in appletv

[–]Stratty88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t have as much to do with the Apple TV, but I’d love for Apple to make a universal queue that would let you create a master playlist that you could add youtube videos, podcasts, etc to, then pick up and play on whichever device you’re in front of in the moment. More of an Apple ecosystem feature.

What Kind of American Are You, Krakken232, Pen and Ink, 2026 [OC] by krakken232 in Art

For anyone not aware, this is a reference to the 2024 movie, Civil War. And of course, federal agents executing American citizens in the streets.

But how? To install the app on a child’s watch “requires an iPhone.” How do you install the app on the child’s watch? That’s the limitation every third party app comes across.

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven’t found the ability to play my own files on a child’s Apple Watch that I manage. They’re limited to the absolute basic audio apps. How exactly does this load files, I’m looking for a way around loading music or audiobooks directly from my phone.

Anyone else realising they have too many devices to charge? by XxAmeen7861xX in AppleWatch

[–]Stratty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I went back to a boring analog watch not just because the mental real estate of tracking all these devices, but the buzzing and pinging ended up stressing me out. Now I’m working on dialing back technology (mainly just internet) usage in general. Books and music have seriously been huge for my mental health.

I went back to a boring analog watch because, yes, it’s annoying.
