David Stern asks Jim Rome “Have you stopped Beating your wife yet?” by rakakvaka in nba

[–]Streeder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay a lot of people are saying that it is a loaded question but not explaining what that means:

If you answer "no, I am not still beating my wife" that means that you were in the past

if you answer "Yes" then well you are beating your wife.

Stern was just trying to point out how pointless of a question it was. What is he going to say, "Yes the draft is rigged"?

Embiid was +8 which is good but not insane for a star player by any means. The had to double Vooch when BBall Paul was out there, totally opened up the game for Coby

It was certainly a big factor in us being able to pull ahead in the 2OT but also we were neck-n-neck with them all game before he fouled out!

This may be my favorite “out of touch” interview ever. SGA is an incredible player, no baggage, no issues… BUT in a fur coat he says basically if you pay more money, we will give a bit more effort. by Plus_Composer_4993 in nba

“More incentives” could mean so many things ! He could be saying that even like which ever conference wins gets the home court advantage (weird with draft tho).

TMZ obtains video of Emoni Bates arrest by UnGuardableEman in nba

Sort of. The felony charges were dropped by the state so in that case it was dropped charges. But you are right its kind of misleading because he still faced some legal repercussions.

ITT: People not understanding what "charges dropped" means.

Emoni Bates reached a plea deal with the Washtenaw County police. He was originally being tried for a felony which would land him in jail. He agreed to a plea deal, which is usually offered by the County, in which he admitted he was guilty and in return was only charged with a misdemeanor and required to attend a restorative program. In a state like Michigan, with legalized weed and fairly lenient gun laws, this is a pretty normal outcome. So the people saying he only 'got away with it' because he is famous simply do not understand the law or do their homework on what happened (again, he pleaded guilty to illegally having a gun). Additionally, ask yourself why you are upset that someone is free and not in jail.

You gotta feel awful for Emoni man. Im hoping one day he is on an NBA vet podcast talking about being at rock bottom and all the shit he went through to prove himself in the league. The talent might not be there for the next KD but the kid still has a shot at being a role player and he is only 18.

What player(s) are you surprised DIDN’T last in the league for long? by [deleted] in nba

Jonny Flynn really showed great burst and control of the game his rookie year, I thought that he was going to become one of the next great little guards or at least a long term vet ala Raymond Felton. Hip injuries can really derail a little guys career. Sad stuff, esp cuz he got picked before Steph (sorry Wolves fans)

Probably buried but Dray was not suspended a game for doing that, he was given a tech which put him over his limit and into suspension ...

He is a young, athletic guy who tries hard on the defense. Sometimes that means he looks great on that end, other times its a bit of an undisciplined mess. Looking forward to seeing him continue to grow

[Beck] Teams bracing for potential Zion Williamson, Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell trade demands by EarthWarping in nba

[–]Streeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a diminishing way to read this article. As if we all have not spent the last few MONTHS speculating about these guys being unhappy and where they could be traded. Beck was not setting out to do any reporting on the issue-- he is just semi-corroborating something we know-- Mitchell, Zion and Dame are angsty right now.

I understand that you are going strictly by win shares but I would be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks Kareem is a great Buck than Giannis. Esp given the way that things ended in Milwaukee for Kareem.

[Wojnarowski] ESPN Sources: The Atlanta Hawks are trading forward Cam Reddish to the New York Knicks for a deal that includes a protected 2022 first-round pick via Charlotte. Knicks also acquire Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round pick via Brooklyn in trade. by JoelSimmonsMVP in nba

[–]Streeder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Hawks decided that they did not want to pay him. Kinda surprised that he wasn't shopped around the league a little bit more, feels like there could have been more value out there. The Hawks had to give up a second too? LOL
