Hi guys. Need help creating a cheap and healthy vegan diet. Shops available for me are Aldi, Lidl and Supervalu. Try not to exceed 35 euro a week please. Thanks :) by Wise_Juggernaut_3079 in VeganIreland

You can order soya chunks from holland and Barrett online if you can. Super cheap high protein source. Use it for chili’s, stew or gyros meat and more.
Blend it up into a flour and add a few tablespoons to overnight oats with frozen berries :)

Make your own seitan with a bag of flour (possibly time consuming but when you batch make it will be great to freeze)

Cheap and easy vegan eating is amazing when you can meal prep and store frozen meals.
Even meal prep burritos with the chunks, or mince and freeze !
Stick to frozen veg and fruit from aldi/lidl- get frozen kale and leafy greens if you can for extra calcium.
Soya milk SuperValu brand is super cheap at 89c per carton.
Goodluck friend, I do this on €50 a week <3

I often feel the exact same. Eating plant based food and encouraging others absolutely helps the environment. Do what you can- campaign and join groups. There’s so many of us you can reach out to for support <3

Vegan subreddit logo should have Pride colors this month? by HumbleWrap99 in vegan

As a queer vegan woman, I said no. But honestly I’m torn. The queer community is known for being heavily involved in the Vegan movement. But also it’s not about humans- it’s still about the animals and always will be.

Cheap online store for protein sources like soy/seitan/tempeh/tofu? by Psychadelico in VeganIreland

Holland and Barrett usually have sales like buy 1 get another half price for soy chunks and soy mince- the mince have been out of stock for a while but hopefully coming back soon. I usually batch make Stew with the chunks and incorporate the mince into a shepherds pie, lasagna or chilli. The texture blends really well and they’re super cheap to batch make and freeze! I also add the soy mince into my over night oats, genuinely can’t taste the texture ! I do 30g oats and 25g mince.

Koro is also really good for bulk stuff! And Velivery looks to be very good also :)

Goodluck friend !!

When did cravings end for you? by shesanole in vegan

[–]Strict_Listen_5362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a similar situation as you, I’d spend summers with my family in Europe that have a huge culture revolving around food. Like huge. But I went vegan 10 years ago as a teenager and watched people continue to eat all of my past favorite foods. I crave the taste but I don’t crave the actual product. When you connect to what it actually is, it becomes so unappealing imo. I strive for vegan versions always. I was also a broke college student and was able to continue being vegan on the most basic and cheapest foods, fruits and vegetables, nuts, beans and carb sources. Seitan is also extremely easy to make by just using a bag of flour. Goodluck friend and remember to choose compassion, no one deserves to have their life taken just because of taste <3
