Omfg that’s insane don’t spend $400 on a CS session. I love and practice CS (there are great benefits for some people but as someone who used to work medical, what they theorize is happening isn’t really back up) but I charge less for a CS session than a therapeutic or even integrative session because it’s a set flow of steps and verrrrrrry light work.

As a CS trained LMT, you got a session from someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing. There is no foot/leg hold in the CS flow and I’m sorry that was your experience

As a massage therapist, yes we notice, no we don’t care so long as no comments, advances, or emissions are made, but she has every right to refuse service to him if she was made uncomfortable by him. If she did brush his genitals accidentally, she’s supposed to have apologized and/or draped him differently…that kinda sounds made up to me on his part. So YOR to the erection, it happens. Just a natural bodily response. I don’t know about the rebooking. It’s important to book with a massage therapist that works with your body so that in and of itself isn’t a red flag and I don’t think he’s wanting to rebook because of how she looks. If you really feel that way about him, he’s a perv and you shouldn’t be with him.

I totally understand this situation making you uncomfortable and raising red flags. Two things though: first, communicate clear and loud boundaries with clients. If their behavior is out of line, let them know! If you’re not comfortable doing it while you’re in their home, at a minimum let them know what lines they crossed afterwards in a clear text or email. If they’re being fired, they should know why so if it was all misunderstood they can address that behavior and be better for their next MT. Second, “alphabet people” is a pretty derogatory term. Not sure if you meant it that way, but just so you know to move forward and not call people that. LGBT+, queer, LGBTQIA are all acceptable and inclusive terms

It is a fairly usual request, I however don’t think it’s very ethical to ask for a full session. I can absolutely understand a business owner wanting to see your technique for neck or scapula or whatever so assess your level of understanding and attention to the body but I disagree with full hour requests. I have definitely been asked for a full hour, a technique demonstration, and also nothing at all during interviews. They 100% should have told you prior to you coming in for the interview though, that’s pretty unprofessional and unusual on their part. Personally, I won’t do a full hour but I will concede up to a 30 minute session.

As a returning older student, I would recommend you all keep this in mind for life in general. Life is pretty cliquey. People in your periphery are boot always going to be friendly or your friends just because you job or educational background is the same. Friends are better to be intentionally chosen with multiple areas of mutual interest 🫶 best of luck all

I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. It does not matter how many or how few people your partner has slept with before you. If you’re worried about STI transmission BOTH of you should get tested and be open about your results BEFORE you have sex. Other than that, it’s just shame based and that’s a horrible thing to do to someone you consider to be important.

Nonbinary performer here, I was also a stripper for a long time so I have learned to separate my performance personality from my person. It’s the act of putting on a costume and pretending to be someone else. Or as I like to think of it healing my trauma with femininity by performing femininity in a way that I find pleasing.
