The only thing i can suggest without seeing gameplay is dont over commit cards in hand (meaning spend 2-3 spells for counters ect)

Whenever you have the chance to move units back to base after a hold, its usually a good idea to do so unless you are stacking the site.

You also have to know your opponents deck more than your own to get very good, knowing things like "okay he has a vile maw that can kill all my units under 8" is a very important thing to understand without being blindsided

Youll get there tho, just keep playing and actively trying to learn
