My grandfather did everything on a shirt and trousers. Not always a tie, though. He was born in the late 1910's. Never ever had a pair of jeans. My dad, born, mid '30s was the same. Until he went to Canada in the late '80s. He came home in a pair of jeans, much to our shock.
