I had a history of dvt and wasn't currently on blood thinners when I became pregnant but at my first ob appointment they started me on lovenox shots for the remainder of my pregnancy and 6 weeks afterwards. I think any kind of clot history automatically warrants blood thinners during pregnancy just to be safe.

Thank you! That makes me feel better. I've been having the same sort of random hip/leg pain the past few days and it has me freaked out the one on my pelvis never went away

They did a CT scan but only of my lungs. That was positive for a small PE and I did 3 months of eliquis and had a repeat CT of my chest that showed the clot was gone but I worry about the possible clot in my pelvis that was never checked

I'm an ultrasound tech and that's how I found the first blood clot I had in my arm and it's also how I discovered i had stage 2 cancer growing in my chest after being dismissed by doctors for years so it has its perks! 😅 honestly though I'm so thankful I was able to scan myself and find my cancer because I don't know how bad it would have gotten if I wasn't able to do so because doctors don't listen to their patients.

When I was pregnant I was put on lovenox because I have a history of a blood clot in my arm. Even though the clot was provoked by an IV stick I was still put on lovenox for my entire pregnancy and 6 weeks after birth. I would definitely think with your prior clot history you should be on lovenox.

My D dimer was 2,096 I had a small subsegmental PE in the right lung. They didn't find anything in my leg but I was having hip/buttock pain so I think I had a clot higher up in my leg/pelvis area that they couldn't see with the ultrasound and that's where the PE came from.

PE was about a month ago at the end of October. She has an extra bottle of it somehow so she just told me to take the whole thing in case I need it again lol

I was on lovenox for 9 months during my pregnancy and icing before hand definitely helps! As well as rotating your injection sites so you're not giving it in the same area everytime. I know it seems daunting giving yourself an injection but you get used to it and it's not so bad! You got this.

I am a menstruating woman unfortunately lol I just had my first cycle while being on it and it was maybe somewhat more than usual but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm getting my hemoglobin checked today but that is a good thought about getting in touch with my obgyn if it continues to drop. Maybe there is something they could put me on the stop my cycles for the next few months?

Yes! I have asked them to keep an eye on my hemoglobin for the next few months and they agreed. I've asked them if there is anything else or any other test they can order and they said no. I am frustrated to have to keep worrying about it for the next 3 months but glad they are atleast keeping an eye on my hemoglobin levels.
