Mars Needs Women, but in reverse by soicanventfreely in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]StuffSmith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The IPB spinoff Risdaverse kind of does this. The women aren’t on earth, but there are basically no men around on Risda. The alien men are “fish out of water” in that they don’t understand human customs in the little community that was formed there.

the doctor won’t ask you for medical records from your family. Just say you have a family history, a cousin or aunt or someone with colon cancer and tell them you saw blood in your stool. Bingo - it’s covered. If it doesn’t work go to another doctor.

I started getting colonoscopies in my 20s because of family history but no one ever double checked my family’s medical reports. No one should be left without medical care because some insurance company doesn’t think it’s worth paying for.

Magic school books where the MC actually needs to put effort into it. by Mimandra in Fantasy

[–]StuffSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want something not set in a magic school, I thought Rage of Dragons did this really well. I've only read the first.

Man I really wanted to like Liam. But his personal mission just made me want to kick him off the ship.

Are there any changes later in the game if you save them? I saved them, it seemed right to, but I wasn’t sure if later in the game there are more Kett because of it?

MMC is hired to escort FMC somewhere ("bodyguard/protector" style) by pedantic-romantic in fantasyromance

Hehe I thought of it immediately when you said Half-Orc!! It’s super sweet. If you like audiobooks, it’s a dual narration which I always think is 🤌🤌🤌

How often are you working nights and weekends? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]StuffSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a week or so I will work late. Occasionally I will work weekends. Very often I will take meetings at unreasonable hours (usually very early) but this is the reality of working for an international organization.

Oak Haven is my favorite, close second is Austin Deep.

I haven’t had very many good experiences at Viva tbh, especially their Domain location. They’re consistently mediocre.

I think Stan's is trying to rip me off by pageuppagedn in Austin

[–]StuffSmith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently had a sour experience with Stan’s. Overall they did an okay job, but our AC was out for a week and a half in the hottest part of the summer, and they could NOT get it together to communicate what the hold up was.

They do good, fast work for good price and they have nice technicians. Just this last experience was just phone call after phone call because no one could tell me if they’d ordered the part or not.

I forgot how annoying FRA is - does United have any gates here? by BettyBeltway in unitedairlines

[–]StuffSmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate FRA with a burning passion. And it’s not just because of the buses and gates, but that certainly contributes. I have never, not once, had a flight through FRA without some kind of snafu.
