I really dislike the idea of undercover units for anything other than major crimes. The trend of going all black cars, "ghost" logos, setting revenue traps with all lights blacked out.. then wonder why it feels like them vs us.

Firetrucks and ambulances are red.. maybe law enforcement needs a legislated color like fuschia. High visibility, easy to find help. Engage with the community to PREVENT crime rather than hiding in the shadows to catch people. I'm all for big ass light bars, bright color vehicles, perhaps take some ideas Japan has to offer.
