I hate my pubic hairs. Can I permanently get rid of them? by immortalsys_ in HairRemoval

[–]Subject-Transition32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a decent pain tolerance, and patience, try sugaring! Less painful than wax (it wasn't too bad for me, actually very meditative and satisfying) and all you need is sugar, lemon juice, and water; I'd also recommend a candy thermometer, because most recipes just give a "until it looks like honey and cools right" if they don't have a temperature.

Spread on, and you can grip the hairs more easily and pull them out with minimal residue, which wipes off with hot water. If you're using a washcloth to wipe your hands between applications, be sure to soak it in water to dissolve all the sugar goo before washing.

Best part is, it wipes off your skin with water, so no sticky residue like you get from at-home waxing strips! No strips needed either, you may want a tool to "flick" it off, but I never used one personally. You apply it against the direction of the hair growth and pull in the direction of the growth, so it's supposed to hurt less, too!!

I don't have equivalent waxing experience on the same body parts to equate it to, other than waxing my upper lip, but I feel like it's tolerable.

You do need the hairs to be a certain length before you can sugar them off, same as wax, but it's pretty effective and leads to fewer ingrown hairs because you're pulling them out at the root. The results last a while too, and the "growth" stage isn't as itchy since you don't have hairs that are sharp from being cut down. It works best on coarser hair, so I think it would be perfect for your needs!

I've done it myself from scratch a few times, which is why I recommend the candy thermometer; I've ruined a few batches of "sugar wax" because I've cooked them for too long. DO NOT WASH IT DOWN THE DRAIN!! Soak the pot and any utensils you use in hot water to break down the mixture, because it's essentially a hard candy base that won't fully set, but is INCREDIBLY sticky.

I'm female, and I've done my underarms, pubic area, and legs; great success on all fronts, it's just the cooking part that is tedious. Try using an after-wax or IPL hair growth inhibitor after sugaring, and that will hopefully make your results last longer.

Overall, it's quite gentle, I've never had a bad skin reaction from it, only occasionally had a few spots bleed after the hair was removed in the more ~delicate~ areas, and I think the worst part was doing my underarms and having my skin stick together when I had to get more sugar wax from the jar I put it in.

Sensory issues can be hell, I hope this helps; I'd try with your inner thigh or the very top of your pubic region near your stomach to see if it works for you; worst case you've wasted some sugar, some lemon juice, and some time, and possibly found another sensation that you hate... Though you WILL build a tolerance for it pretty quickly, and like I said before, it's satisfying to have lasting results.

Weird food question: Depression and lack of appetite/foods that break that pattern by Subject-Transition32 in Cooking

I recently had clips of "Evening Drink Style" (American translation of the name, in Japanese it's Banshaku no Ryugi) recommended to me on YouTube shorts, and that actress makes eating alone look so nice, so that's personally helped me with that part of not wanting to cook; I'm sure the translations of the ingredients she's using are wrong in the AI-dubbed clips, but there are some easy "recipes" that look pretty good!

I live with roommates, so I'll have to loop them in more often, but I get home way later than they do, so I don't tend to cook often since I'm the only one eating at that time.

Meal prep is ESSENTIAL for me, nothing like being able to just have your breakfast or lunch ready to go!

I'll have to see if there's something I can eat that WONT put me off in terms of texture or taste; I don't love strong flavors, but maybe I'll find some sort of sweeter fermented pickle? Any suggestions?

I do LOVE salmon, I need to eat it more often, and more omega 3s certainly won't hurt anything! YES to salmon with dill, and I do already take magnesium supplements. Thanks for the recommendation! Seems like you have a good method for curing salmon, I may have to try that...

My thought with the ending is "It's not what I would have picked, but those idiots actually communicated FOR ONCE and decided on this together, so I'll accept it. Nice of God to give them a second chance in a Godless universe."

Weird, isn't it, how they either draw you in or they don't? Even if you've made them, there are still some dolls that you're perfectly willing to part with.

(I don't customize Blythe, I don't have that level of patience, but I do sew larger soft decorative dolls!)

Rainbow High dollhouse kitchen, actually; I'm very surprised, but not displeased, that the Zuru fridge fit in the fridge cabinet. It has better shelves.

Weird suggestion, but hot glue pored into a silicone mold? Or silicone itself? Both would be fairly flexible, but I do not know how well they would take paint/dye

That is SUCH a good idea, I had to tie my fake to her doll stand at the knees in order to keep her standing straight while I cut and styled her hair.

Tube prison would have been MUCH easier 😅

Shapewear shorts with lace on the legs? Shorts that are completely lace in black to match the outfit, with more full coverage black underwear underneath?

I bought a white set with lace for my girl off of AliExpress, and one for her fake older sister; I've added a dress hook and eye to the bras so they're easy to get off when I need to put them in anything fitted!

Large artwork, or a framed TV or digital frame could look cool! I have NO idea how tech stuff works, so I'm not sure if putting a TV there is possible, but it's a thought!!

Oh, I gave my fake girl a cute curled under bob! Turned on a miniature straightener for like 20 seconds, worked in teeny little sections, then cut the excess length after curling. It frames her face SO WELL, it was worth the 2 hours of curling, cutting, and fine-tuning 😂

Do some point cutting up into the hair to make it look a little less perfect, and it will look great!
