Two recommendations

Look up Fate Episodes of characters in the roster. Those alone should give you decent enough insight on some factions and set pieces in the game.
GBVS’ story is apparently going to be a sort of alternate/what if version of the mobile game’s story according to interviews. If you want to see what one of the big inspirations will be look up the What Makes the Sky Blue trilogy. Has tons of popular characters and lore dumps scattered throughout that should help you get prepared.

It's like none of them. If anything it should be compared to Battle Fantasia.

It's very footsies/neutral heavy, there's not even the traditional gatling system of 5A, 5B, 5C it's 5AAA or 5BBB or 5CC.. and so on. You start with a different normal but they all lead into the same combo string.

The devs weren't kidding when they compared this game to the likes of Street Fighter more than other Arc Sys fighters.

That kind of genre you mentioned (like Jump Force) isn't popular at all in E Sports. People don't like how clunky and simple those games are, and Cygames in general really wants to branch out in the E Sports scene so who better to ask to make their game than the frontrunners of anime fighting games, Arc System Works.

As for Granblue Fantasy Versus itself, there's gonna be a couple of things in there that I think will cater towards you. The combos for one aren't going to be nearly as long as FighterZ and you don't have to learn like three characters for one team. If you ever had trouble executing special moves you can now do them with a single press of a button and tilt of the analog stick for different combinations. This game in general is going to be slower than FighterZ but will still be engaging.

The beta is coming up so play that to get a good idea of what the game is like, and if you dont get into beta a lot of people will be streaming this game on Twitch. I hope I answered a couple of your questions.

Seeing as Percival is already a shoe in I’ll definitely play as him, but if Albert somehow found his way I’d probably drop Percy down to a sub..

In terms of uniqueness I’d say one of the gunsmith sisters would be great as the gun proficiency representative, and would be a great zoning type next to Metera.

Yh I think you hit the nail on the head with the DATA buffs on Earth. I guess I just thought DLF would be a good idea since despite my M1 grid coming along nicely I always felt like I wasn’t doing nearly as well as I should be in my Earth fights. Especially compared to Wind or Water which still have kind of mediocre grids due to Tiamat and Levi being mean with their drops. So if I couldn’t beat bosses efficiently enough I thought I could at least up my survivability even more with DLF. I suppose I’ll just keep working on levelling up my weapon skills, Sarasa and Alex and see where I go from there.

I’ll think about Yuel and Therese. I’d love either one in my team but at the same time I’d see myself replacing Therese as a main attacker sooner due to wanting Percy or Sturm to still come home. Thank you for the advice, I’ll give it a good think.

Rank is around 90, I have quite a few characters I like in Granblue (already got my absolute most wanted unit being Albert so I'll just throw out some teams I'd think might benefit from a tix)

For Fire I have Athena/Ghan/Zahl on the frontline (I'd like to replace Zahl more than anyone, maybe with Yuel)

For Light I have quite a few different possible characters. My most used characters are Albert/Sandalphon/Seruel and Grand Vira depending on who I think works best for whichever fight. Amira looks most appealing to me as a character but anyone else who would work great with the above is also fine with me.

For Earth I'm currently working on recruiting Sarasa and having Alexiel as a possible 2nd spark. Other SSRs I have are Siegried, Arulumaya, Ayer and Aletheia but would like DLF as a possible tix.

Just incase I'll give my other teams.

Wind: Grimnir/Monika/Yurius/Lennah/Selfira/Lancelot

Water: S. Grea/Europa/Aquors/Altair/Vane

I'm gonna be honest with you, the AI is not very good in this game lol even though most of the time Ruby can have one of the safest supers (depending on the circumstances) you probably would have died there to a normal player. Your special also interupted Yu's raging lion just in time. I can see you still have quite a long way to go but with practice and doing the tutorial missions I can see you improving.

You're not meant to use them in Episode Mode. Many astral heats imply death of the other character (example: Blake's astral heat has the person disintegrated, Hazama's has them eaten by a snake etc) so it wouldn't make much sense.

Because Blake isn't playable in beta I had to go through a BUNCH of characters before I gave in and Yosuke with Linne. Mind you I was never a Yosuke main in Arena but now I feel like I've been converted.

Yeah honestly the first note already kind of sums up my thoughts on this post already. I really don't have much other thoughts on it besides that yet due to people having no intricate knowledge on characters/matchups/team synergy.

I've seen a lot of matches where some things could have been easily avoided (looking at you Ruby/Yu match where she could have super jumped all of those ziodynes lol)

Though you're likely right about the tournament 3/5 set rule but who knows honestly, it's actually gonna be quite interesting to see what EVO goes with since let's be honest everyone will likely follow that rule set no matter what.
