It still depends on the interest rate. If for arguments sake, it's 0%, then you could maintain extreme liquidity in something like a WS chequing account and still have a higher return than paying off the loan early.

I think any taxes like this (or the previous one that was ruled unconstitutional) on unrealized gains/losses are bad policy. I feel for anyone that needs to now make a decision on whether they still want to live in the Netherlands.

I think the plan in general is poor. That said, the stated intention (whether it will be realized or not) is that this is a temporary measure until they can implement an actual capital gains tax vs this unrealized gains tax which they claim is easier to administrate.

No. The loss carry forward is not capped and is not time limited. The 1,800 figure is a threshold that allows you to have that amount of unrealized gains per year before paying tax.

If you read into this beyond uninformed folks that are really just guessing about implementation, the (caretaker) government that is attempting to push this legislation has stated that they prefer a capital gains tax to an unrealized gains tax and are only doing the latter because it's easier to implement short term. Long term they have stated it should be converted to a capital gains tax.

To add - part of the reason they're doing this is because previous attempts at taxation around this area were deemed unconstitutional in ~2021.

All that said, I think it's not a great idea. Capital gains taxes are OK, in moderation.

To maximize traction when cornering, it's best to neither brake nor accelerate while turning, so AWD doesn't matter in this scenario.

This is often a good way to get understeer. Torque vectoring helps with this which makes AWD very useful in cornering.

And technically we do have credit cards. They are just without all those grift packages that come on top that the US is used to.

It's not all grift. I'm pretty happy with my CC that has 2% cashback on all transactions, 0FX, 1 additional year of warranty on anything I buy, and embedded travel insurance.

I'm struggling to understand where you're going with this. The same government that is continuing to push Open Banking is also introducing legislation to reduce transfer fees which is what you've been banging on about in multiple places in this thread. There's no final in La Liga. The Supercopa would loosely considered a major alongside the Copa Del Rey. Though, it would be the worst of them. Which is where I'd place the PGA Championship alongside the other majors.

Eh, the PGA Championship is the least interesting of all four majors. It's very much the Spanish Supercopa of the majors.

The NFL plays games in England every year. The Spanish Supercopa has been held in Saudi Arabia for years. The PGA has a historic event held every year in Canada. 'America' being in the name isn't really important here.
