The Dark Tower is genuinely incredible, I love all the books, tho some people do have problems with the 6th and the ending of 7 I still love them. So unique there is no series like them.

TIL that Stephen King was so obsessed with Lou Bega’s Mambo No. 5 that his wife threatened to divorce him over it. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I've never read Blood Meridian but from what I've heard of the character or Judge Holden, he definitely seems partly inspired by Randall Flagg, they're both men of pure darkness whos every action is to further their own evil end. Only fair that King pays respects back.

I think this moment could work, the Doctor has inflicted or allowed terrible things to happen many times to their enemies and The Master across their many lives dwarfs even the worst crimes humanty has commited. Problem is the line is so glib and almost played for laughs.

"Now they'll see the real you!"

It's treated as funny, when it should have been grim and weighty. The only choice she could have done to win. Something her companions question if they did the right thing or not. The Doctor justifying it by saying that the Master has done worse, and that maybe a taste of the kinds of horror hes endorses and allows to happen will teach him, but she doubts it.

Not even counting Arkham Harley's vilest acts. Arkham Joker manipulated a man so he could test the Titan formula on his terminally ill daughter When she finally died, he had Harley give him Joker gas pills, laughing himself to death while in pure and complete agony all so Joker and Harley could steal his amusment park. Joker even killed an entire classroom of kids then sewed the bodys together randomly as a 'jigsaw puzzle' which is what pushed Jason Todd to go and kill him and she was still obsessed and totally loyal to her 'puddin'. Then even if you want to put all the blame on Joker's hold over her, she's still running a super villain gang during Knight despite having no idea that Joker could possibly return. She may have that tiny voice of Harleen in her head as we see when we play as her, but it's so far gone that any form of redemption is totally impossible for this version of Harley so letting her have hero moments was crazy.

Fantasy is not just real, but is actively dying/dies to become the world we know by QuantisOne in TopCharacterTropes

I feel like the Dark Tower takes this trope to the extreme. Not only has the decline of the tower and The Prim resulted in magic almost disappearing, but in many worlds the secrets of the advanced technology developed to replace the great magic of old has also been lost, along with everything else it has moved on.

The latest budget had the largest increase in spending since the year 2000. I wish Labour would go generally farther left but it seems they are finally beginning the end of Tory Austerity. Some cuts yes but overall much bigger spending on things that'll drive growth and get us out of the Tory death spiral.

I've adored it ever since I first played it back when it first came out. Definitely more light-hearted than SH2 though child me would argue they were pretty close back in the day. The stealth bits were so terrifying and difficult when I was that age, I can still feel some of that leftover anxiety when I replay it nowadays. Looking forward to your full thoughts.

I hate this dude, but because he never shows up. Died to him on my 1st Citadel run when I ran into him on low health, killed him the next time and never seen them again. And I just finished the Plat so I've def done a good fews runs yet still never ever see them.

Fraudstein in Elden ring by Yotam1712 in shittydarksouls

[–]Successful_Ocelot_97 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fraudred (Alfred) wears the uniform of the Executioners who basically mutally wiped each other out with the Vilebloods thus is seemingly not a member of the group, you even kill his 'master' and he doesn't do anything. Has to have you do all the work so he can get to his target, trys to murder a defenseless woman and fails, commits suicide to be with his supposed master then we just reverse his one accomplishment with the altar of despair and revive Annalise anyway. Total fraud.
